The Republican passed budget outline cuts Medicaid by $880B. That's essentially the entire budget.

Trump's Tax Cuts will INCREASE taxes for anyone making less than $360,000 per year. It will cut taxes for people who make more than that.

The tax cuts will ADD $4.5 Trillion to the national debt. This is their math, so who knows how bad it might actually be.

The evidence for cuts to social security:

1. They have already cut SS staffing, including cutting phone-based services. So if a senior who is not computer literate needs help with SS, there will be none available. Benefits are no use to someone who can't access them.

Staffing at SS is already at a 50 year low and there are plans to cut more. If you break the systems that give people access to their benefits, it's as good as removing them.

1. The rhetoric by cabinet members is troublesome. Commerce Secretary Lutnick said only a "fraudster" would complain about missing a social security check, suggesting the only people who need the money are committing fraud.

2. Elon Musk described social security as "the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time" and said it was "the big one to eliminate". He also falsely claimed to find rampant fraud (the 'look at all the 150 year olds on SS' gaffe)

3. Data security. Musk's Doge team, including "big balls", a known contractor for a hacking group, has access to everyone's personal social security information. Sorry to tell you, but big balls probably has your SS number and bank account.

4. Project 2025 outlines changes to Social Security, to include raising the retirement age to 69. The administration, despite denying knowledge of Project 2025, has been following it like a checklist. Trump even appointed the author of Project 2025, Russell Vought, as Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

5. The Republican budget proposal raises the retirement age and cuts benefits for 75% of Americans.

6. A history of lies and obfuscation make it impossible to believe Trump when he says SS won't be touched. The facts are his tax cuts will add massively to an already absurd budget deficit. It is impossible to pay for his tax cuts, but he seems hell bent on making a dent in them by taking away the social safety nets regular people rely on. He's already done Medicaid, food stamps, free and reduced school lunches, cancer research, etc. It stands to reason SS isn't safe.
