How badly am I gonna get meme'd on?

Minus the obligatory poor reputation, I hopped over from schneider to swift since the pay difference is 39cpm vs swifty swift's 55cpm, not a huge difference but substantial enough for me..
Sufficient_Tooth_949@reddit
.39 is outrageous, .50 needs to be the new floor for a rookie and that still not enough
PsychologicalAnt3395@reddit
No shit bud I started out at .56 in 6mos was at .62 and that was with no experience at all. Trying to keep people in poverty so they got no choice but to go to work
Sufficient_Tooth_949@reddit
Sadly I'm teaming for .54
Just needed a job ASAP, but my teammate wound up being good people
6 to 12 months of this and im gonna need a solo job paying .60 or more
CR8Y_ol_Maurice@reddit
Most companies paying 60 or more need to see 12 months min and wont budge for insurance reasons
scottiethegoonie@reddit
I made the same jump but for intermodal.
The first week I was in the truck I felt like a rolling meme. Doesn't help that the truck I'm in is already damaged. Other drivers give me a wide berth it makes me lol.
CR8Y_ol_Maurice@reddit
What up intermodal Swiftie brotha! Don’t you love getting paid hourly and setting that cruise to posted speed limit? 😎
CR8Y_ol_Maurice@reddit
Um, bro that’s a 41.03% increase. Not a “huge” difference at all….. also, just wait until you realize how actually decent swifts management team is.

Good luck getting home time. So sorry
Chaos__Insurgency@reddit (OP)
Took me 2 n 1/2 months to gey home time after christmas to get home time with schneider, so business as usual...

Good old Schneider. Driving through a backup today and lo and behold a see Schneider blow by in the express lane which clearly states that no trailers are allowed
Wu-Tang_Panda@reddit
I make 67 cents a mile and I think that's shit pay sheeeeessshhh I couldn't imagine 55 let alone 39
pingus3233@reddit
39 cpm?! What decade? That's crazy talk.
PsychologicalAnt3395@reddit
Great money IN 1972, fuckin hell I’d rather stay in bed
18WheelerHustle@reddit
How many years of experience do you have?
xDoomKitty@reddit
Going from $0.39/m to $0.55/m is a 41% increase on pay. I'd call that massive.
Naborsx21@reddit
Like an extra 400 / week or more. I started out at 39 com in 2016-17 kinda sadly I had jobs that paid around that the first two years. It kills me that Schneider is STILL paying that. And I know others are probably worse :/
Lopsided_Beautiful_1@reddit
SNI pays me $0.46 per mile
Kortobowden@reddit
Most people don’t give a shit as long as you don’t hit anything. Usually will just be an occasional joke once a month at most
Twisty12223@reddit
We really need to make FedEx the meme. Most swifties with experience are fine.
Strangeokk@reddit
FedEx ground is usually the bad one. They are like Amazon prime and sub contract everything. Informed for FedEx ground years ago for about 8 months. Ill never forget when my boss hired a lady from Taiwan who barely spoke any English and didn't know how to back because her husband would always do the backing for her. She was also tiny and couldn't even move the dollys and had no idea how to drop or connect to a trailer. That place is a total shit show.
Strangeokk@reddit
Swift really ain't even bad anymore compared to the other shitty companies. The worst of the worst these days are those Amazon prime contractors.
mrockracing@reddit
You'll be fine. I've had several incidents when backing where someone will hop out and scream at me that I'm going to hit their chruck, or honk as if I'm going to hit them. It's so much fun to prove the wrong, after they insist you stop doing what you're doing.
Also, be very careful. Instead of helping or being kind, when you drive for them, all anyone will do is whip out their phone. Happened to me with a poorly labeled worksite at a truckstop in NC a week or two ago. One guy did actually let me know I was being dumb, and I thanked him and I ended my already long day normally instead of on YouTube.
And, be prepared to get kicked out of perfectly legit places too. "We don't want Swift trucks here" and "Swift is banned from this lot". There's even state run rest areas that banned Swift trucks (I don't think it's legal but who's going to fight it?) Also be prepared for super truckers to scream at you over the radio for driving like an idiot when something perfectly normal happens, or for them to move half a lane over to pass or be passed.
But, I will say, it makes life so much easier when no matter the situation, someone will help you back in somewhere, and people will actively avoid you lol.

A lot of truckers are ridiculous
Live-Door3408@reddit
39¢? Wow! My first gig paid 58¢
mxadema@reddit
I Mmean, 55cpm is not great (not terrible but not great) but 39cpm is borderline poverty.
I don't blame you. Give it a go, get some miles, get some time in, and hop again when you see more cpm
Opposite_Sell_9857@reddit
That's wild. I started driving 2 DECADES AGO for .25 cpm...
12InchPickle@reddit
As long as you don’t fuck up you’ll be fine.
