Central transport

Hey there, I have a interview with Central transport today because our current job is cutting pay and hours the person that I spoke with said that position pays between 1290 and a little over 1500 a week just for the driving part and when you’re doing work on the dock, it’s about $31 wanted to see if there’s anybody currently working for them and if so, what is your average weekly net looking like? I had one coworker who used to work for them they said that he’d have no problem walking away with 1200. A week which if I can do 1200 after taxes that would be ideal as that’s what I’m currently making now not counting to pay cut that they’re gonna be giving everybody.

Central Transport is a Maroun family enterprise.
Look in to the Maroun family if you want to be thoroughly disappointed in humanity.
As a Detroiter; fuck them and all they do/stand for.

You can Make 1200 after tax yes just remember they don't pay overtime oh and they do hair testing if that matters..I applied there I liked hour's nice trucks but overtime after 55 or 50 sorry I'm out. Like some law passed in 1935 says farmers and truckers are exempt from overtime straight up discrimination I refuse to work for these companies.

I don’t have to worry about drug testing. I’m squeaky clean, but yes, the fair labor and standards act typically exempt us from overtime as well as nurses and decent mechanics and probably the other things. I’m pretty much gonna be using them as a steppingstone as my current company looks like they’re going out of business soon and I’m looking to transition into something quicker to get my endorsements taken care of and then go onto another company like. XPO ESTES DHE OD or another LtL when the opportunity presents itself

Estes also has same overtime deal so does Ward and abf I hear nothing good about xpo but maybe things changed. Estes pay like 38 ph in my area so at 38ph maybe ok overtime after 50at that rate. Try your local ABC supply build first source get info boom trucks where money at or lee transport if you like to do fuel

Thank you for the info

Worked for central transport, was one of those pickup and delivery drivers...was always interesting...vs on your best behavior as they are cunts who will put anything down on your record. I had a dock once that was a brick wall, no rubber pad, it busted the glad hand cover off the airline on the end of the trailer (they used pup trailers for local deliveries) and thus the brakes were locked on...I left a skid on the Dock pad from the tyres and that was put on my record....

I applied to them many moons ago. I went down to their terminal and it was in disrepair. Trucks were clapped out. Building myself looked like a F5 went through. After chatting with drivers they told me the pay reflects why I saw.

You did better than me. I actually worked for them for 9 whole days before I went screaming for the hills.

Yeah, I left before I even had the interview, lol.

Well, I’m pretty much trying to get my hazmat taken care of and finalized and my other endorsements and once that’s all done I’m gonna look over to see about hopping over to DHE or Estes or XPO I just have never had the need for my other endorsements with the work that I was doing before, but my current company is future is looking very shotty right now and I don’t wanna laid off and trying to pays on unemployment

Personally I don't think they'd be a long term investment, I've yet to be to a central terminal that didn't look half abandoned with equally kept equipment. I'm surprised they've yet to follow yellow, and I don't think they are far from it themselves.
If you just need something to hold you over not a bad gig if you don't mind being in and out of the trailer a handful of times a day.

Yeah, I think that’s how I might end up treating it

You know what I don’t get about Central Transport? They have a terminal a few miles away from me and I see their line haul drivers frequently on the highway. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them doing a pickup or delivery…

This position I interviewed for is a drop and hook switch position, so I will meet another driver swap trailers and go back to terminal but yea I only ever see those yellow trailers either at Amazon or the home base or the freeway
