I actually sleep better with the sound of a reefer running. I used to always park near one when possible to drain out all my thoughts when shutting down for the day.

It helps getting to sleep. As we're already tired from driving all night, the noise behind the cabin, makes it easier to sleep. I knock out immediately. Always make sure to do whatever needed to be done before sleeping as I wouldn't wake up till I needed to.

This one shuts off every 10 minutes and turns back on. I'd like it sure if it stays on

That's when you wait for the driver to fall asleep and go switch it to continuous. Or shut it off.
oasuke@reddit
Imagine damaging thousands of dollars of food just so you can sleep.
mike-2129@reddit
Yeah I know right.

I’m a driver. I don’t care. As long as I get paid I’m happy.

Need to make a call at that point
vfittipaldi@reddit
Happens to me all the time.
Abucfan21@reddit
Switch it from Start/STOP to continuous.
Driver won't even notice.

That loves hat is clean i want one

Yall reefer complainers be the same ones who idle your stupid truck on high speed all night. That shit makes more noise than any reefer.
NomadTruckerOTR@reddit
I have to use high idle right now because my trucks a/c won't get cold at idle 🤣
ctrlaltowned@reddit
Or the ones that have the busted air dryer that pops every 15-20 seconds

I carry ear plugs just for those lawn mower engines

I had just about the worst case of this possible, I think. The place I stopped one night had two BIG lots to park in. I'm talking 50+ spots each lot. It's empty when I show up.
Figure I'll make it real easy to not be bothered and go park on the far side of the far lot. Furthest I can get from the building itself. Two hours later, I hear the sound of a truck backing in next to me. Right next to me. It's a reefer. There are no other trucks. Just me and him. What the heck.

Dude doesn't like sleeping alone
Sad_Thought_4642@reddit
Shouldn't the reefer guys park in the corner, furthest away from everyone?
LordRaven74@reddit
That's one more reason I like having a moving van. I like to open mine up while I'm inside the trailer folding pads and cleaning up. Most people who see the open side doors don't park next to me.
OkStorage3731@reddit
Having a cattle trailer nosed in beside you hooves and a metal deck makes for a shitty night

For all the guys out there who say dumb shit like go turn off his reefer when he's sleeping, I hope you or your family gets an intense bout of food poisoning from the very load thay you damaged so you can realise how stupid and selfish you are.
As if the whole world revolves around you and only you.
Drivers have become so soft and selfish. Food needs to be transported. Your own kids need to eat. How the hell do you guys expect to not starve to death if reefers just stopped existing?
Grow up. We're all professionals and we all have to park somewhere. Get over yourselves.
If the lot is empty and some moron comes parking next to you for absolutely no reason, get down like a civilized human being and point that out to the guy. 99 times out of 100 he'll understand and move to another spot before shutting down for his break. It's not hard to be civilized.

The flip flops are a great touch.
Sufficient_Tooth_949@reddit
I like the reefer, i haul dry van now but I miss that humming
The problem is when they run it on cycle, so its on/off all night, I always did continuous regardless of the paperwork, just like a box fan in a bedroom to me
