Recharge A/C by can or do it right?

I've got a 2013 Audi A5 where the A/C pressure switch recently took a dump, and while removing/installing the pressure switch, some refrigerant leaked from the system. Also, I've noticed it blowing not as cold air as it used to. Figured I'd get the A/C recharged, but I'm wondering if it's safe enough to do by can (like one of those A/C Pro cans you find at ORiley's) or if its worth the peace of mind to find a mechanic to recharge the system correctly (by weight instead of pressure)?

If the system is still pressurized, I'do it by can. The ac system has a pressure sensor that cuts off at "too high" and "too low" in case you screw up.
