The G5 could run OS 9 applications in the Classic Environment under OS X (on 10.4.11 or earlier), so it should be able to run it. Alternatively it might be possible to run it natively on OS X using an [older version of Marathon Aleph One](https://www.macintoshrepository.org/3417-marathon-aleph-one).
Yeah I figured, the G5 can't boot into OS 9 natively. Last Power Mac to be able to boot 9 was the G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors).
There's a project to make it run on newer machines with some patching, but there hasn't been much luck with the G5 models.
A few years ago my employer was getting rid of probably about a dozen of these, and I was offered one, but I regretfully didn’t take it. I do have, however, an iMac G3.
Sadly not, the exact keyboard would be the A1048. This one came after and unless I'm mistaken, was released after the Intel transition. It's fully compatible on the G5 with an updated OS X Tiger though!
I love them, I also have a pair for my main computer as a backup to the headphones. For vintage computers (that can power them with USB), I think you can't go wrong. The sound is perfectly decent, and great for the price.
I can vouch for this. I was looking for a cheap 'crappy' set of speakers for a random side project. These fit the bill. But when I plugged them in, they sounded shockingly good for the price. Very respectable and probably better than the average logitech speaker.
I stumbled upon it because a guy living nearby was selling is whole setup. I'm amazed by the vivid and clear picture for a 2002 monitor. But it is connected with ADC so won't be of any use except for vintage macs
Yes!
I don’t know what brand that monitor is, but I’m just about to order those same Creative Labs Pebble PC speakers, and while these are the same in the light colour, they look so much like the original iMac speakers, I thought they were genuine Apple peripherals!
(I bought them because they’re really space efficient, and the price was right!
It is probably because of my light usage and the fact it is the model with a single processor, single core G5, but I've been quite surprised by how quiet it is after reading horror stories about the G5 lol
The fans going wild at startup for 2 seconds is definitely funny though
I had no idea those existed until two months ago, I thought they were cheap knock-offs but actually not at all! Beautiful colors. Just got to be careful handling it because the plastics have gotten very fragile
Yes, it's a 20 inch from 2002. It was bundled with the computer by the guy who was selling it.
I had no idea those existed but I'm impressed by the quality of the picture and the colors. Aqua looks beautiful on it. The plastic has gone brittle though
