Ridiculous image 😆
walshy53@reddit
Yeah that's not a .30-06 on the right. It's like a .22 the one on the left is the .30-06.
mattyice1005@reddit
This is fake pictures that looks like 30 06, bullet not 556. 556 or 223 is alot smaller then that...
Month-Serious@reddit
Idiots, Liberal bias!!! 22lr identified as 30 -6.. Lol. Liberal biased lies indoctrination the ignorant.
Ok-Watercress-2659@reddit
Who's gonna tell em it requires much less power to punch a hole thru a 180 pound man vs a 300+ wild animal

4 years later, this post is still delivering heaps of imaginary outrage to the garden-variety clusterfudd who wouldn’t know a joke if it crawled under his skin and replaced his missing chromosome.
Needless to say I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Cheers and keep on 😏

I refuse to believe this is real.

Yeah this definitely smacks of “fake.”
Koolaid_Jef@reddit
Edit: im wrong about the 30-06 and the image is even more of a joke than I thought
The one labeled 30-06 is actually a .22 cal. Tiny round for a tiny gun.
I'm new to guns but I believe the one labeled .270 is an actual 30-06 but i could be wrong. But it's definitely one of the larger ones pictured
I own a ruger 10/22 (shoots .22) and I can put an egg between the end of the stock and my shoulder and it won't crack
OperationSecured@reddit
Nah man.... .30-06 is fuggin yuge. It dwarfs 5.56. I’ll wait for the ammo nerds to show up though. They know their bullets and casings better than I know my wife’s asshole.
That 12 gauge label is hilarious, but tips the hand that it’s fake. No one can be this stupid.
ETA : misread your comment, brother. I think you’re right on spotting the .30-06.
collin2477@reddit
the order appears to be .50 .30-06 .308 .223 .22lr
there are several very similar sized rounds that could also fit 7.62x54 is very close to .308 and 7.62x39 is very close to .223 and .300 black although they are very likely .308 and .223 based on the casing

Bullet Comparison 30.06 (thirty-ought-six)
AnyBet2777@reddit
No 5.56mm is close to .223 .308 is the 7.62mm
Cautious_Judge8609@reddit
I will say, this was my gut instinct as well, but, without an actual stated scale or known reference point (think, a penny or a quarter in the picture), it's technically impossible to tell.
It's entirely possible that if you dig deep and crunch a lot of numbers that the ratio in size of each cartridge/bullet when compared with each other example will only result in one possible lineup of rounds.
But I haven't done that math lol, nor do I know intricacies between similarly sized cartridges well enough to understand the results of the math anyways.
Either way, this picture is obviously a joke/satire, made obvious by the "12 gauge" designation of one of the rounds lol
ClearlyInsane1@reddit
I think we have competitors for it:
"Some of these bullets, as you saw, have an incendiary device on the tip of it, which is a heat seeking device. So, you don't shoot deer with a bullet that size. If you do you could cook it at the same time." --Former Democrat New York Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington
"This is a ghost gun. This right here has the ability with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second."
--California Democrat State Senator Kevin de Leon
His now-famous video here
"We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it's legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines."
--Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California)
"What's the efficacy of banning these magazine clips? I will tell you... these are ammunition, they're bullets. So the people who have those now, they're going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available."
--Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado)
"The Second Amendment only protects the people who want all the guns they can have. The rest of us, we've got no Second Amendment. What are we supposed to do?" --Rep. Louise Slaughter New York Democrat

I wish I could like this more than once!
TRYHARD053103@reddit
Its not i can testify to that. Your common m1 Garand fired a 30-06 round. I served in the Marines and i promise you for a fact that 5.56x45 Nato rounds aint that big. Small entrance wound and slightly larger exit wound. So the round we use in the common Ar platforms today are not quite as devastating as what was used in your M1 Garand style weapon system. As time progressed we moved to a more lighter yet affective round. For example if your a Machine gunner not only do you carry your m240 but you also have to take in to fact that you carry all your ammunition so imagine carrying 200 plus rounds on your body plus your pack which can range between 70-150 pounds plus your 240 then you have whatever else equipment you also need for the mission set. So in reality now days the lighter the ammunition and how much can you carry on you is a big factor. Especially if your moving quick and pushing enemy lines or evading enemy fire. You dont wanna get slowed down. Being complacent gets you killed. Had a buddy that heatstroked while we were conducting land navigation and his heart stopped. Thank fuck we had a doc there. He was evaced and his heart was restarted and hes good to go now.
Veterougaru@reddit
They announced the caliber and rifle and I googled it and fell upon this page. Wow. Quite fitting that he used that round. Perhaps that was a statement he wanted to make.
AuthorRadiant882@reddit
I hate this post, this could influence people with false information for those who do not know calibers. Also, no such thing as assault weapons.

Fake parody image. Not a real ad. Also this was correct: .30-06 used to hunt Nazis.
There are no such categories as "weapons of war rifles" vs "hunting rifles." Many animals are stronger and have thicker bodies than humans.

Ive legit had people tell me I dont need an AR15 or AK47 for home defense, all you need is a pistol, shotgun or hunting rifle.
Apparently a .223 is too deadly and powerful and should be reserved for warfare, but a 1oz slug? A .30-06, .308, 7mm Mauser? Pssh....they are just as powerful as a .22 or a 9mm.
SandKey@reddit
The irony is that they all suggest you having a pistol over a 223 all while the 9mm is, by far, the round of choice for homicides in the US.
Only_Oil_8532@reddit
Your handgun has a very important role. To get you back to your rifle if its not in your hand. A 223 / 556 useful yes but by no means is it anywhere close to the punishing power of my deer rifle chambered in a 30/06 . I own both chambered in each round if I had a choice Ina bad situation I'd much rather take a target out with my Browning Abolt chambered in 30.06 at a long distance versus my 223 / 556 at closer range.

5.56mm NATO is a military round developed from civilian .223 Remington. 30 06 was developed as a military round. 30 06 was widely available along with military rifles after WW1. 30 06 rifles could easily be modified to a civilian type hunting rifle. Or, new 30 06 gun parts were cheap and could be used to make hunting rifles. 30 06 was a modern Spitzer, smokeless rimmed round for a Mauser type action. It replaced obsolete Krag and 30 03 rounds. 30 03 had a rounded bullet nose rather than pointed and was quickly replaced in 1906. 7.62 NATO was also developed from a civilian round, 300 Savage to replace 30 06. This reduction in power was more suitable for lighter automatic weapons. 300 Savage was developed in the 1920s.

30 06 bs 556

Idiots that's a 30 06 round 556 is 22lr size lol

That right there is not .30-06. .30-06 is almost identical to 7.62

I chose to hunt communists with a 7.62×51mm but my dad and grandfather did it with the 30.06. Do I get a pass to the next round? I also did a fair amount of commie hunting with 40mm, .45 acp, 9mm and 12 ga 00 buck. Claymore's were the best though, commie, commie, blamO, commie dust, commie dust, no commie.
TransMilitaryWannabe@reddit
Why is this subreddit so much against communists? Isn't this suppose to be apolitical except on gun policy?
swampmeister@reddit
It's mostly because most 2nd Amend supporters don't think that Socialists/ Marxists/ Communists, and left wing agitators will support the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in their "Fantasy World/ Next Government". It is also a backlash when Antifa (the people who support that Ideal)/Black Block/ By Any Means Necessary, Violent BLM Thugs and rioters/ Arsonists call anyone right of Bernie Sanders A Nazi...
So lefties, commies, Marxists, Lenists, Stalinists, Trotskyites, Mao-ists, etc are anti gun rights...

Yes people think about your children. There are so many lunatic, left-winger, liberal lies out there, in this case by an anti-second amendment lie. Children are being fed these lies on a daily basis. The actual "lead" in their favorite weapon of was the AK-15 is .223 roughly the same size as a .22 (.220) and the 5.56×45mm NATO. 12 gauge is a shotgun shell not a rifle. The was a man who went to the school and showed the students a paper with a whole the size of bowling ball (instead of the diameter of a pencil) and demanded that the kids & their parent write congress to take guns. Yes people, please give your children facts and not lies...

Adventurous_Okra_561@reddit
and for each springfield use to "hunt nazis" royalities were paid to Germany
Foreign-Group4561@reddit
People really don’t know that 5.56 is pretty Danm small and if that comparison is true that .30-06 ain’t taking down nothing (not to mention the second amendment isn’t for hunting it’s for fighting the government)
Wierd_eric@reddit
They literally chose the smallest bullets they could find to make that already small 5.56 look like 50bmg XD Why not put an airsoft bb or airgun pellet next to it? Or would they be too big?
Training_Doubt8815@reddit
That is not a 556 round
Electronic_Cabinet67@reddit
This is some stupid right wing conservative meme. The thing not talked about is there are very few if any guns that shoot 30-6 at a rate of fire or magazine capacity similar or as widely available as 5.56. A 5.56 round will still erase your face and little kids aren't wild animals. This shits not rocket science. If you truly believe in unlimited access to fully automatic weapons for so called "law abiding sport loving" citizens, you're inviting every single mass shooting especially the race based ones. It's entirely too easy for some disgruntled incel computer nerd who finally found his place among other pieces of shit like him on 4chan and discord to go try and martyrize himself for "the white race" to go buy a a rifle and a ridiculous amount of ammo with zero resistance. What's so fucking crazy about needing to pass a test and get a license and only being able to buy a normal amount of ammo? You think your Cabela's armalite is going to save you from a tyrannical government, but your also afraid to get a fucking vaccine because the government is that omnipotent, you're a fucking idiot. Everyone should have access to guns, just like cars.
FWYSEAFDASMBFYATHYRO@reddit
For people with big heads, big feet, and big hands like mine, 30-06 feels way easier to load and deal with. I worked 3 years for the federal government and in the military for 28 years and promise you my firearms experience is pretty crucial compared to the average conscientious objector p.o.s. in the military or the civilian societies. After using and training subordinates on revolvers, shotguns, rifles, SMGs, MGs, rocket launchers, cannons, grenade launchers, real and CGI simulator ranges I am not anti weapons. I don't collect them but I don't hate them. Blame the action not the tool used.
Dnozz@reddit
See this is why there is so much distrust. The guy who photoshopped this should be taken out back and spanked.. The 12guage shotgun round is pretty interesting though..
So there are two different measurement systems when noting the caliber of a bullet. Just like all measurement systems The United States has their own system while everyone else uses the metric system from which this add has "cherry picked" mis-information. The ".270" is .27ths of an inch. The "5.56" is 5.56millimeters which is actually much smaller than a .270. (5.56 is actually the 2nd largest round in the picture). The .30-06 Springfield (7.62x63 mm) shoots a round measured with a .30 inch diameter actually making it the largest on the list.
The AR-15 isn't a "more deadlier, super exploding" weapon. In real facts it's actually quite smaller than even the smallest of hunting rounds. Hunters use large rounds to kill animals fast and humanely. Soldiers use small rounds to wound enemies (It takes 2 extra soldiers to help a wounded soldier giving the shooter a 3 for 1 deal).
Gun grabbers are currently fighting a losing battle because the facts simply don't align with the agenda. Making pictures like this whether as a joke or not shouldn't ever be done. My grandmother gets to vote. She would buy into this and has told me her friends say that the bodies in mass shootings are all blown up because the AR-15 is much worse than a hunting style rifle. People ARE buying into this and if disinformation like this continues... They only have to win one vote. We have to win them all.
Formal_Animator_2902@reddit
This is SOOOO FAKE. The large bullet there IS the 30-06.... A "12 gauge" is actually a shell, NOT A CARTRIDGE as they have it mislabeled here... The other identifying calibers are also incorrect. This is the result of a paid propagandist generating fake content to brainwash people using fear tactics. I wonder how many people actually looked at this and believed it?.. #FREEDOMS OVER FEELINGS #America the Great
xxgirbonixx@reddit
Nothing in this picture is correct except maybe the 5.56
