Gpu not detected in bios, black screen after booting

Basically the title - Pc was working fine, then I went to restart it. When it rebooted, there was no display.
I can still enter bios during startup, where it detects that something is slotted in the PCIe slot, but it is not detected in system information. Any ideas on what to do would be appreciated!

What's your motherboard, CPU, GPU and PSU? Me personally, I had this issue and (bear with me) I had to boot into windows using an iGPU (plug monitors cable into mb) then click shut down in windows then restart for windows to recognise my graphics card. It might not work for you, but it's worth a shot

I have an RTX 3070 FE, Ryzen 9 5900x, B550M Aorus Pro-P, and a 750W psu. I tried plugging it into the MB to get some sort of display, but no luck. My cpu does not have integrated graphics

I would check the power cable from the GPU.

I noticed after a while, one of the two fans on my gpu stop spinning. What can I do assuming it is the power cable?

Inspect it thoroughly and see if all cables are still seated properly in the connectors.
Also fans shouldn't just stop spinning entirely, especially not when in usse but what I would try is to see if your old GPU does work.

After seating an old gtx 760, i found that it doesnt even give me the option to enter bios. No display with another gpu at all.
My gpu is getting power, only issue is that theres no display to see if its a software issue or if my gpu is dead. Might have to take it to a shop :/

Have you tried to reseat the CMOS battery? Maybe your BIOS got corrupted settings.
