Advice removing stuck power cables on GPU?

I’m planning to upgrade my gpu but that necessitates an updated psu as well. All of the cables were a beast to plug in and I feel like I’m about to damage my mobo trying to get them out. Any advice on the best way to remove these cables, ie the big ones in my gpu?

If the clip is depressed, pulling hard is the only way to get it off. There is a really good chance the plug will come out before the pins strip out of the solder on the board.

Pinch the plastic tab as hard as you can, then wiggle the connector side to side while pulling it out with a good bit of force.
