How easy do you feel your life is compared to the rest of the UK?

I saw a former collleague post online how they were going back to the office after a year - and it was apparent they weren't too happy about that, but had accepted their fate. They work 9-6 - which seems crazy long in my book. Then, thinking of my own life right now - it generally just feels, well, easier than that. This isn't a brag - and I've gone through some seriously tough times in recent years. I'm also aware my current status could change at any moment. How do you folk at r/AskUk stack up? Do you feel your life is easier or harder than most people's, or just about average?

I work 10-7, but that is including a 1hr lunch break, and I'm on Flexitime so I can start and finish when I please and take a shorter/no lunch break if I want. I don't think it's too long at all, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little envious of my dad, seeing as he works in a school and only does 8:30-3:30 + tons of holidays. I live in Hull, so housing is super cheap here, so I think that definitely makes my life a lot easier than elsewhere in the UK. (Particularly London—what the fuck is going on down there?!) I don't know that living in Hull impacts how easy or hard my life is otherwise though.

8.30-3.30 is still a 7 hour day so a 35 hour week, which is pretty standard. The tons of holidays sounds nice though.
