There was an old lady who swallowed a spider, That wriggled and wiggled and tiggled inside her; She swallowed the spider to catch the fly; I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die! I have 3 siblings and two cousins, we would sit around and do this or tell ghost stories.

,been married 30 years and every single time one of us either sees a spider or is griping about someone and the other always follows up and ends the exchange with "perhaps she'll die" and walks off. We don't even laugh about it anymore; it's just part of how we speak. Our kids always thought we weren't right in the head for it but we'd just say "ehhh, you just had to be there"

I can't remember the stories, but I do remember something about flip-flop, flip-flop that scared me back then.
