Why is NHS support for people with Long Covid ME/CFS stopping?

I'm not sure anything is stopping? There is a long history of the NHS (and the medical profession more broadly) dealing poorly with post-viral syndromes of various kinds. That comes from a mixture of * prejudice - a percentage of docs who still believe in 'malingerers' * lack of knowledge and efficient treatments - it's still not known what exactly causes these syndromes and therefore the treatments are somewhat guesses * cost - following on from the above really, they're expensive to treat because they last a long time and treatments don't always work. Many of the best treatments are time-intensive, rather than a simple medicine * triage - post-viral syndromes are horrid and demoralising, but they don't immediately kill people so they inevitably get bumped behind other things. People can and do live with them to varying degrees The more conspiracy-minded will tell you it's all about the first of those, but I lean towards the view that malice is rarely the most satisfactory explanation. The latter three are at least as important if not more so.
