RTX 5090 for 3600€ from a reseller in Europe

Has anyone managed to snatch a 5090 in Europe for less than 3600€ recently? I know there were some deals upon launch, but it has pretty much been a drought ever since. It is first time in 3 weeks that I'm seeing 5090 in stock with the lowest price being 3600€ and it hurts to say, I'm considering... Still awfully expensive compared to msrp. How has your experience been so far?

5090s in EU are 3199-3699. That’s normal. Everybody else crying that their GPUs in the USA are expensive from a retailer then all I’ve got to say is, where were You for so many years. Welcome to Europe

I have not checked the prices, but please remember the prices mentioned in EU are always with VAT, whereas the prices in the US are always without tax. Yes, the tax is most likely higher everywhere in the EU, but we also got public health insurance etc. Everything needs to be put into perspective.

Well, some of them might but from my understanding why a PSU can be 300at one retailer and 400 at the other is because they have a different source/deal, where they get their parts from. A guy posted on NVIDIA or PCMR subreddit about the 5090 price being like 10k in Latvia, my neighbour country. Some days ago, I picked up my 5090 and other build parts, spoke with the people and they said that they sell a lot of components or are the middlemen for Latvia for example. This doesn’t mean that the whole Latvia is getting stuff from Estonia’s retailer, but the point is that retailers themselves have probably deals. If You can get an Astral 5090 for 3699, then the retailer who is selling it won’t sell it for the consumer price to the other retailer. The fact in all of this that, let’s say that retailer gets it for 3100, they it 3699 to a consumer and to another retailer somewhere in between depending on the agreement or cooperation/relations that they have. This information came staright from the hip and using my brain. The Europe just has taxes. It doesn’t mean that bread or ice cream is always expensive but if a big company makes a technology and sets a price for the people and the sells it cheaper for their partners who also use materials, work force, everything that is needed I create the product then I am guessing that these partners will set their own price based on exclusivity that they made this and also based on the original consumer price that NVIDIA claimed to be at 1999. Now add taxes, tariffs, transportation and everything else in between and after. What’s left? 3100-3699 for them to make a profit or they have to close the company. Having 2-3 workers in your company, paying them 1000€ a month + tax and health insurance off of it is so fckn expensive, at least in Estonia (a thousand euros salary is jack shit). So yea, wouldn’t say it’s a scam, in the US people pay taxes at the end of the year.

Lol I'm in Estonia too. And trying to grab a 5090, so how much you paid which model? I was still thinking prices are inflated. For example Arvutitark has some stocks atm but around 3600EUR.

Probably some of them do take advantage, who wouldn’t but I think bigger companies wouldn’t set it to a scalper price to jeopardise their reputation

I haven't seen anything under this either and have been closely following prices since launch. Here in Hungary at least, literally NOTHING started from MSRP day 1. So I pulled the trigger on a 3,628.38 EUR 5090 Gainward Phantom today. Just praying it won't be missing ROPs.... AIB selection in general is also extremely limited here, I think the store I bought this from definitely has some kind of deal because they are the only ones selling it in the entire country, rest of the shops mostly have Asus or Gigabyte and very rarely, Inno3d or Palit. As for myself, I can also justify it, I was sick of waiting and constantly checking stock everyday. (there were zero 5090 pre-orders here, only 80 and down) It's also my first time going all out on a gaming PC, I am going to use this for a LONG time. Way longer than I did with my 3080 which I am semi-retiring now.

There was an Astral for 3k during launch but at the time I didn't know it had per pin sensing. I feel like an idiot not jumping on that at the moment. It was never restrocked since. I think it will serve you well, just keep an eye on it at all times. (for my case it would have been a bit too big anyway and I didn't want to sacrifice front fans or change cases entirely, Phantom will fit just fine)

I think we are not discussing is it worth to give 3600EUR to a VGA card, but is this price inflated for this card? I also started to see a few stocks but nothing less than 3600 EUR, the question is not "giving 3600 EUR to a VGA card is it worth or smth" but is it the expected price of this card or is it inflated price even by authorised resellers because of limited supply chain? For example I'm looking inno3d, or MSI ventus or Gigabyte super basic models where I expect pricing around 2400-2700, but have not seen any yet... RTX 5080 models started to be aligned, it's FE MSRP is 999EUR, And now stocks are 1500-1600 which is expected, RTX 5090 is 1999EUR, where we expect 2400-2700 for super basic models. Maybe someone has an idea about this.

That's a horrendous price to pay for a gaming GPU and unless you have a *business* (as in tied to employment or productivity) reason to set that money on fire for a GPU instead of just waiting or getting a more reasonably priced card it is only contributing to the problem to purchase that GPU.

I tend to agree, The justification in my head is that I do game, but I also do heavy AI processing on the side as a hobby and this card still appears to be the cheapest out of all AI chipped cards.

I appreciate that this is a hobby and for some it is their only hobby - but that amount is utterly mental to spend on a single part for a PC that is replaceable in under a decade. Honestly if you’ve got huge amounts of money to spend and don’t care then no-one will stop you, but it’s a ridiculous markup.
