Imagine if Nvidia made a 3050 but half of it, and then you played games with it in the RTX9000 series time

I've had it for a while, depending on what VRAM model you get you can comfortably play GTA 5 on it at 30fps or so at low to mid graphics, JC 2 runs well, but games like just cause 3/4 and hitman WOA the only way you can play with it is if you go into the registry and tell the game to render at a MUCH lower resolution (to the point of pixelation), that's how I actually played the hitman 2016 and hitman 2, it was bad but playable (if there's a will there's a way). You can also play rocket league on it (runs quite well on low graphics), but I'd recommend that unless you're on a skimp budget that you buy a proper entry level gaming card, you can find a used GTX series card for under $100 (probably under $50 too) and it will perform infinitely better than the 710 (you'll actually be able to play some modern titles without pixelating the game).Â

So lets suppose you have potato pc and if u watch video on that, your cpu likely to chock just doing video codec. You can simply offload your codec task to that banana-chip. this is help your cpu to load your browser's webpage half second faster than it usually takes. so its bad banana but, good that no banana.

As someone using my first PC ever including a Intel Core i5-3470 (3.20 GHz), GT 710 (2GB) and just 8 RAM, is pretty decent for low end GPU requirements honestly. (Most Steam games are demanding for this GT which requires you to get a GTX 1050, i can't play much AAA games, but because of it i have a Xbox One to do that job).
I'm seeing people saying "is bad" but they haven't tried it with some old good games, and as someone who doesn't care that much of graphics in-game and just play to have fun it gives a good fighting to run those games.
(P.D, if you want to play at full screen it may not be the best experience, i run it in a 1600x900 windowed screen and Ais impressive how good it is).
Worth_Salad_7284@reddit
I have checked it cannot run games over 2016-2018 since it became more demanding, but really basic games like:
Worth_Salad_7284@reddit
Keep in mind that i use Seelen UI with Wallpaper Engine in the background (luckily Wallpaper Engine doesn't consume much RAM), Seelen UI is slightly demanding for my 8 RAM but doesn't give many problems.
Yes, i have yet survived and still having a lot of fun.
For my job softwares i use Da Vinci Resolve, Krita, FL Studios, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD i haven't faced any problem with any of those (yet).
Since it's still my normal use of gaming and work PC i give it a solid 8.7/10, because it's just in the middle of impressive and decent but is not that powerful for demanding AAA games, but if you want to play older games it can be possible you can have a fun experience.
I'm planning to update to a better GT or upgrading to a GTX for my low profile goverment PC (yeah, is that bad) with a 16 RAM upgrade (sadly i have two 4 RAM slot doing all the job).
God bless.

definitlyitsbutter@reddit
It displays images. You can play minecraft on 720p low. You can play fun 2d games. 2013 Tomb raider reboot runs fine in 720p. Witcher 2 runs bad. Run emulators for old consoles like ps1 and 2. Run old old games. Og unreal tournament. Civ iv. Maybe skyrim on low, but oblivion will do...
ANormalPerson31@reddit
I actually have all my Minecraft settings up on mine and it runs surprisingly well. 8 chunk render distance with OptiFine.
4tizzim0s@reddit
I had a GT 730 back in the day which was enough to run PS3/xbox360 level games. The GT 710 is much worse than that, so when it comes to 3D games you'll probably have to stick to extremely low demanding titles like Minecraft, Tf2, FFX etc.
JakeJ0693@reddit
Honestly it can’t even play Minecraft on lowest settings. I have one in a work computer for display output to multiple monitors
ANormalPerson31@reddit
I actually ran Minecraft quite well on my GT 710. Hell, 7 years later it still runs. It's obviously not my main GPU now since I built my own computer which used a 4060 but now has a 9070 XT, but I still have a lot of memories with it. I just wanted "something" back then, since I had an old HP office-like computer we got off of Amazon. It even ran Fortnite, albeit badly, but I still played.
Large-Television-238@reddit
yes it can run smoothly for most ps3 games.
ANormalPerson31@reddit
I mean, it is, but if you have a PC that has absolutely zero good integrated graphics, it's not "that" bad. I played Minecraft and Fortnite on one when I was younger. Yes, Fortnite was horrible, 30fps max and constantly stuttered, but it still served me well and I had fun. Minecraft was actually pretty good on it, like, really good, especially on the well-received 1.8.9 version with OptiFine.
Pretend-Scratch2349@reddit
yo tengo esa gpu y me corren genshin impact en bajo a 50-55 fps con i3 2100 + 4gb de ram windows 10 ltsc
maxxxminecraft111@reddit
It makes a nice wall ornament
Wolf15050@reddit
I had it 3 years ago, if you're planning on playing some older titles: counter strike 1.6 / source or any other valve game from that decade you should be good! Pretty good card for that
Dangerous_Pause2044@reddit
was about to say, stuff like CS 1.6, Diablo II and other classics would be running fine yeah.
Large-Television-238@reddit
Yeah but not diablo 2 resurrected XD
Dangerous_Pause2044@reddit
lets be real, remakes are never better than the originals.
Large-Television-238@reddit
you mean graphics ? i'm not sure because it is 20 years ago but i'm sure the requirement are way way higher than originals.
Dangerous_Pause2044@reddit
nah graphics are usually better, but something will always be missing. idk, probs just the nostalgia kicking in, but remakes are just never as good as the originals.
illicITparameters@reddit
It’s solid for solitaire
Large-Television-238@reddit
I WANT 144 FPS SOLITAIRE !
0wlBear916@reddit
Not if you're playing Solitaire with ray tracing tho.
ofoceans@reddit
It's solid for solid tear also, as in solid tear out of your PC immediately
Gerbil_Juice@reddit
It might lag when you win and the cards fly around.
Large-Television-238@reddit
Even when it newly release but still is just a mid range card , currently it is completely obsolete and basically any igpu is way faster than it.
theSkareqro@reddit
Super bad. It's a 11 year old card.
tomonee7358@reddit
I distinctly remember looking up the performance of the GT 730 I had and it lost to some pretty common igpus back then, let alone the GT 710.
_bullshittery_@reddit
I have a GTX 660 Ti, 13 year old card and its still chuggin just fine (albeit low graphics but meh)
The issue is the GT part, not the age
AvatarIII@reddit
I'm not sure it passes the minimum specs for windows 11
mom-22@reddit
You can bypass it and it works well. I can so anything but I don't play games
Abstract_Void@reddit
Look at benchmarks on Youtube and see before your very eyes
Own_Respect8033@reddit
Pretty much was just a display adapter when it came out, or for like media servers to output to a TV. Just about anything you find that still has driver support will blow it out of the water, hell I'd assume most modern integrated gfx outperform it.
JakeJ0693@reddit
Guaranteed that almost all integrated graphics from the last 10 years are better
laffer1@reddit
They are amazing for servers or media center use. Very low power! Some use an x1 slot.
Don’t use it for gaming.
Xero_id@reddit
You can run command and conquer still with xp, sadly that might be it.
SurpriseButtStuff@reddit
Is basically just an HDMI port on a pcie card. I wouldn't really call it a graphics card. It can't hang with integrated graphics...
Dangerous_Pause2044@reddit
Its a 11 year old GPU. is it bad? compared to new GPU's yes. but what games are you going to try and run on it?
DNosnibor@reddit
It's bad compared to most 11 year old GPUs, too haha. But yeah, it can still run some lightweight games. I bet stuff like FTL, Terraria, and Minecraft (on low settings) would run ok at 720p, maybe even 1080p (well, FTL is native 720p anyway)
Dangerous_Pause2044@reddit
sure, but its all down to what OP is actually trying to do with it. if he said he wanted to play modern games, or even well optimized competitive games i would say its worthless. but stuff like.. Diablo II, CS 1.6, warcraft III etc. sure it can play them fine
DNosnibor@reddit
Yep, I agree, that's what I was getting at when I said it can play lightweight games
Chilli_no_beans@reddit
I was using one a few years ago as a temporary GPU. I was able play a bunch of 2d games like Darkest Dungeon. Dragon Age Origins ran fine as well. It's not capable of much more than that.
VersaceUpholstery@reddit
The iGPU inside my 3400g from 2019 is better.
ScoobyDoobie00@reddit
The gt1030 is barely better
DNosnibor@reddit
It's pretty bad, but if it can run the games you want ok, it doesn't really matter that there's better stuff out there. But yeah, you could spend like 50 bucks to buy a used RX 580 8GB and it would be way faster.
Raging_Vegan@reddit
It's basically just a display driver at this point. Never was strong to begin with. Only thing good about it is that it doesn't need to be powered through the psu.
Boomerommerroomer@reddit
The higher the numbers are the better the card is.
BilboShaggins429@reddit
It's absolutely ancient and outperformed by most modern igpus
