Totally what I was thinking! And horns honking and headlights flashing.

My grandparents took me to see Jaws as my first movie/drive in movie. Grew up in a beach town and would never go in past my knees because of it.

Let's all go to the Lobby, Let's all go to the Lobby, Let's all go to the Lobby, To get ourselves a treat!

Where is the lobby at a drive-in?
View on Reddit #49636051

La_Mano_Cornuta@reddit

Usually the concrete building that also houses the film projector.

Our l"obby" was a brick building in the center of the drive-in. So technically not a lobby but a freestanding concession stand.

It was originally made in the 50s, and was made to play before the main film, but after the news, serial and cartoon were played, and then right before the intermission. When the Drive-In's caught on, they just re-used the film. It has been labeled the "Most watched Snipe in Hollywood history"

The posts says it’s only from drive-ins

I assume it’s how OP recalls it, they must have visited the drive-ins a lot. But this ad ran before films in regular cinemas as well.

The posts? what do you mean? Did you bother to check Wikipedia, or even Google it?

Usually there’s a simple standalone hut that sells refreshments, that’s the equivalent.

Okay there's a building in every Drive-In lot that houses the lobby slash snack bar/bathrooms/projection booth. ![gif](giphy|l0HlJD7OBM0BEVLWw)

That’s exactly what was running through my mind as well. Our local drive in played this into the 90’s

I remember it well. I was disappointed when that stopped playing during movies.

Wait. This was a real thing? I thought it only existed in the Aqua Teens Hunger Force Movie Film For Theaters.

Insufficient_Mind_@reddit

It was real, I used to go to the movies in the summertime afternoons the "Matinee" and these would play for a few minutes before the movie began.

This was shown only at drive-ins? Are you sure?

I didn’t say it was shown only at drive-ins.

View on Reddit #49637051

tunaman808@reddit

No they didn't. The title is "One of the little cartoons that would play during the intermission at the drive-in", none of which implies they ONLY meant drive-ins.

Does anyone recall / have a link to a version of this that was like "adult swim" creepy. It was kinda like a bad acid trip. I believe the snack items are doing the little song and dance, and then one of the snacks gets stepped on and it all goes downhill from there.

I remember the wieners sliding into the bun and everyone honked 😉
View on Reddit #49633883

labboy70@reddit

Wasn’t there also this little villain who would come out with a machine gun and blast a number into a target to show how many minutes remained until showtime? It would run between the ads for the snack bar at the drive-in.

SFDebris uses these a lot on the reviews he puts on YouTube because YT sucks about the laws around free-use. I didn't see these back in the day.
