I've been trying to pinpoint the difference(s) between today's "musical artists" and the true artists we grew up with. I've listed a few. Any others?

Lack of auto-tune (they auto-tune everyone today on most songs, even those with great and on pitch voices) and that makes them sound a bit less human, more robotic and I feel like that takes away a bit of the emotional connection and impact. They can't even do purposely slight over or under hits for certain emphasis and emtions. They studied song lyrics and found that the 80s were the last time you had words like "us, together, love" etc. dominate while later you had a lot more "I, me, mine, my own". They found 80s and earlier had a lot more songs about togetherness of peoples and girls and guys pining after each other, celebrating one another, wanting one another. They found a lot more anger and violence starting a bit into the 90s. They found a lot more girls ragging on guys or songs about empowerment and rising above or not needing guys and so on later on. They found a lot more self-centered lyrics post 80s.
