Did anyone end up in jail? Did anything at all happen?

A full-scale Inquiry has been set up and is on-going. It was announced in 2017 and first interviews were the following year. Quick google says it is now closed to the public and the final report is being prepared. At this stage, therefore, there are no legal proceedings of any kind. Speaking personally, I would say it is likely that because a number of diffrent parties are involved, even within the construction of the building, it will be hard to build a criminal case against a particular organisation. Any such case will likely take a number of years to resolve. https://www.grenfelltowerinquiry.org.uk/ Some progress has been made finding an amicable resolution to taking unsafe cladding off other buildings, but that too is a massively long process.

It seems fairly straightforward to me. The main contractor are responsible for all works, whether carried out by them, or by their subcontractors. Why its gone on so long I can't fathom, I'd say its very clear who the responsible party is.
