I'm all for removal, but do we know which jobs specifically...like are they only targeting corporate auditors or is this just more posturing to make it look like like it's helps us when it doesnt
The math doesn't even work out for this plan - IRS took in over 2 trillion last year in income tax alone (and refunded about 460 billion). Tariffs in 2024 only brought in a total of 77 billion. Our tariffs would have to be insanely high and coupled with massive cuts to the government, which I think even from a libertarian perspective, would be excessive. Not to mention the backlash from other countries enacting their own tariffs in response. It's just not feasible.
Firing the IRS without changing the laws just means that laws are unevenly enforced. And guess which law will get unenforced in that situation? Those that go against the deep-pocket who can lawyer up and fight.
It's crazy anyone can criticize this administration for busting down the IRS. Best thing the opposition could do is criticize they aren't doing enough and say their party would do even more if elected.

I’m skeptical of him actually believing in this and being able to pull it off:

The nonfallacious libertarian knows that any cut to the state is a good one.

Cut it all! If it isn't in the Constitution, it doesn't belong in the Federal budget

I'm hoping he tries really hard to make it happen though.

That will really help trumps proposed $4.5 trillions dollar deficit budget.

The tax laws are fucked, not the IRS.
