The less human the character is, the more concerning the fetishization is. Because the human traits are the whole point, the more you take that away, the more people are going to give you the side eye.

That's not comparable with fictional teenagers, because the fictional teenagers are always meant to be teenagers but furries aren't just meant to be animals. It's an apples to oranges comparison.
