Where does the RTX 5070 (NOT ti) fit into the gpu tier list?

Ive only been seeing news about the 5070 ti, but never the 5070 itself. What’s the deal? How good could it be estimated? Surely above a 4070, but what else?
CryptikTwo@reddit
Considering it hasn’t been released yet who the hell knows.
iSHJAYGAMiNG@reddit
It released on 2/19/25. Got an email from microcenter. and already sold out on newegg

“The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is set to be released on February 20, 2025, while the RTX 5070 will follow on March 5, 2025“
monstermash1005@reddit
Oh don’t worry the Chinese scalpers invented time travel to already purchase every single 5070 even before they went up for sale.

5070 is looking like it’s worse than the 4070 super not 4070 ti, 4070 super quality or less. Ya it’s not looking good for uplift to price, but that’s really the whole 5000 series launch.
TRi_Crinale@reddit
Why do you think the 5070 is going to be worse than 4070-S? There have been zero benchmarks because that card doesn't release for 2 weeks. I would expect similar uplift from 4070-S as the 5070TI got over the 4070Ti-S, which is about \~10%

Well I’m taking the results of the 5070 ti and then multiplying them by the ratio of cuda core difference. Which while not really comparable between architectures are within the same architecture. The results do not look good is all I’m saying. But then again maybe Jensen was right and the 5070 really is a 4090 in disguise well just have to wait and see

So for the price of $550 would u recommend it? I’m trying to run an 7600x
monstermash1005@reddit
For $550 ya it would probably be worth it. However it is not being sold for $550 even from the non scalpers. Sooo ya. Your not finding it for that price
floundersoup57@reddit (OP)
Best buy will have it for $550
avgarkhamenkoyer@reddit
You could hope that amd would have give nvidea competition but they are amd
bitwaba@reddit
7600x will pair nicely with whatever you can get your hands on.

If someone gave me one for free I would swap out my 3070 for it...but that's about it.
My next card's going to be a 4070 Ti Super when the prices sort themselves out, and I'll be happy with it - as I have been with my 3070. Sometimes "good enough" is good enough.
woodzopwns@reddit
From the other cards about 5-10% better than 4070 super. Given the way the market is going with frame gen you wouldn't get great value out of it as frame gen is waaaaay better on higher base fps.
Foxk@reddit
Somewhere in the middle of the 4000 series I think.
Grat_Master@reddit
It fits the best in the trash where it belongs with all the other 5000 products.
Trungyaphets@reddit
It has less Cuda cores than 4070 super. I expect it to be similar to a 4070 super. Not appealing at all.
Laj3ebRondila1003@reddit
there's little to no reliable leaks around it but it's looking like absolute dogshit (worse than the 4070 Super with the same amount of VRAM). Might as well go for the RX 9070 non-XT if you're shopping in that price range since it'll be cheaper and have 4GB more VRAM, and FSR 4 is looking at least as good as DLSS 3.8.

Maybe this might help

4070/7800 XT

Next to the RTX 4090 /S.
