Alright, but are we truly prepared to integrate Kosovo's Albanian minority into Serbia?

Those who advocate for such a mission aren’t thinking through the consequences.

Those who argue for such a thing are dishonest. Essentially, no one actually wants this.

Regardless of whether Kosovo is "reconquered" peacefully (which seems highly unlikely in this century) or through military force, Serbia would be left with a significant Albanian minority.

No, if it's through military force, the idea is to initiate something like the refugee crisis after Operation Storm or the reconquest of Nagorno-Karabakh. Whether we'll call it ethnic cleansing or whatever is kind of irrelevant, but Serbian society basically just wants them gone.

Given our current electoral system, that would make them political kingmakers.

Sure, that's an argument for the dishonest crowd who talk about peaceful reintegration.

Are those pushing for war ready to accept the possibility of an Albanian prime minister or an Albanian minister of internal affairs? I highly doubt it. The only alternative would be ethnic cleansing or, even worse, atrocities we should never repeat. Do we really need more war crimes? Haven't the last 35 years been enough?

Not for most people, it would seem. Especially since we were "righteous" and "legal", and "fought against terrorists" for our national "sovereignty and territorial integrity". Most people won't admit to... any war crimes on our side, basically.

A military takeover of Kosovo would turn Serbia into an international pariah, with devastating economic consequences that we simply can't afford.

Yeah, maybe, unless identitarians and other rabid islamophobes take control of the EU. Kind of what most Serbs are hoping for.

The idea of "reconquering" Kosovo in this way isn't just unrealistic—it's self-destructive.
