Trump is looking to abandon US peacekeeping efforts in Kosovo. What impact will that have on the region?

The ones especially Albanians from Albania who claim Serbia could just “wipe out” Kosovo, or Albania are totally wrong. The Kosovo Security Force has been growing in size and capability, supported by a strong local police force and to not forget ex-KLA fighters who still have on-the-ground experience from the ’90s. Holding any territory would require a massive ground operation, and Kosovo’s mountainous terrain favors defenders, and there would probably be over 50 thousands mens holding their guns. Back in the ’90s, the KLA resisted much larger Serbian forces by using local knowledge, guerrilla tactics, factors that haven’t disappeared. An attack today would likely draw in Albania as well, complicating Serbia’s odds even further. Plus, you can’t “win” with airstrikes alone, war is won on the ground. Serbia’s leadership knows that actually occupying Kosovo would be incredibly costly, especially with NATO and the EU keeping an eye on regional stability. Serbia also faces potential diplomatic and economic fallout if it went to war. So, while Serbia has a bigger army on paper, the idea of a quick, one-sided victory isn’t realistic.

"Powerful Serbian army" lmao. That has got to be a joke. Clearly that newspaper is no better than toilet paper. Dont worry Vucic aint invading nobody. God willing by the end of the year he will be in prison and even if he survives all this he will be on very very very thin ice so no wars.
DownvoteEvangelist@reddit
You are wrong, if USA pulls out, and situation in Europe deteriorates further, grabbing north could totally be Vučić's play to stay in power... He would also get to introduce state of emergency then and could deal with his opponents a lot easier then...
dorobica@reddit
What doe it take for Serbia to declare war? Is it the president alone that can decide it?
Also how popular would a war be?
aXeOptic@reddit
I dont know about the first 2 questions but if a serb sticks a bottle up his ass the war wod probably be very popular.

Benji1312@reddit

drminjak@reddit
That's like 2% of the population, who cares
bodza1305@reddit
They want a war they don’t have to fight in. Most of them are just stupid kids who don’t have a clue what a war means. It would end just like Russian occupation of Ukraine where young ones flee the country and only the poor kids are sent to battle or paid mercenaries, but serbia doesn’t have funds to pay them…
Emotional_Expert8308@reddit
There is protests all over the country demanding justfull and noncorrupted goverment. People is not for war.
Aggressive_Limit2448@reddit
Western Balkans is a time bomb despite three countries are in NATO.
FumblersUnited@reddit
Nah, not at all
edwardkenw4y@reddit
The war would not be very popular, and it would be seen as Vučić trying to consolidate his power, which is currently shaken by continuous student protests and university blockades.
It would, essentially, amount to trying to direct local discontent to an outside enemy. He already tried to pin the student protests on the Croatian secret services, and most recently, deemed them a "colour revolution". Both strategies failed miserably.
YakDue6821@reddit
Isn't Serbia/serbs afraid if they do something like that would mean an extra lifetime to get closer to EU and eventually integrate ? I cannot even imagine how hard it would be to be punished by all the countries that surrounds you and don't have any sea access to at least do business elsewhere.
DownvoteEvangelist@reddit
Vucic's primary goal is to remain in power as long as possible, like Tito or Milo Djukanovic... Implementing changes that are required for ascending to EU would topple him, no way his government of crooks could survive rule of law or any sort of media freedom.
Now attacking Kosovo is extremley risky, and if he did that today it would end him.. But there might be time in the future where that option might be the best way to extend his rule, and he wouldn't hesitate...
Fickle-Message-6143@reddit
Army wouldn't go with that and there is high possibility the coup happens in that situation! They are not police and they will go around beat and shot their own.
DownvoteEvangelist@reddit
They won't need to shoot their own, they would be shooting peacekeepers and Albanians in the north of Kosovo... And he would first stir trouble by increasing tensions in the north...

You do have the strongest army in balkan. Our army is trash. Kosovas army is alright. The people in our army collect trash of the beachshores and turn off fires. Sometimes clean toilets. And you get your weapons from Russia So yes it's something to be afraid of.
MrDDD11@reddit
Not even the strongest army in the Balkans. We are definitely after Greece, and Turkey if you count Turkey as Balkan cus of Thrace, also probably Romania.
Mammoth-Database-728@reddit

Or just vucic If you say Greece has the strongest army I will tell you Greeks are protesting that they need stronger army as they feel threatened by "Albanian Nationalists" We don't even got tanks probably like 10 or 20 Max So you tell me if this is the Greece that is stronger then serbia Turkey yes definitely.

A dictator's favorite tool of staying in power is to start a war though, especially one that would be fairly popular in Serbia I'd imagine.
Not that I think that's going to happen of course, because the US just straight up abandoning Bondsteel is very unlikely, but even if they do, there's still other EU troops here, and even without them there's still Turkey.
But I can easily see Vucic stirring up shit in the north here just to distract from the protests over at you guys.
Emotional_Expert8308@reddit
He is not a very stable or rational leader.
His underground men could even have an arragement with Kosovos underground men to stage a war where they can benefit themselves very much, but make a tragedy for people. similar like what happened in Ukraine. Rich people usually get far more richer in wars, and ordinary people...you know.

Vucic benefits from Kosovo being in this unresolved state. Whenever there was a domestic issue, he would just invent a new headline why Croatia is bad or why Kosovo is bad.
Student protests are of course orchestrated by Croatian spy students and Severina.
It's actually a compliment that he thinks we could organize something like that. We can't even boycott a supermarket for one day properly.

alpidzonka@reddit
Well, any Serbian government wishing to reconquer Kosovo will get a gust of wind in its sails. Not just this year or next year, or just with this government. In general, military conquest of Kosovo by Serbia becomes a more plausible option in the future. Needless to say, I'm personally against that happening.
And I don't think I'm exactly reinventing the wheel here, I'm stating the almost obvious consequence.
VeziMe@reddit
Alright, but are we truly prepared to integrate Kosovo's Albanian minority into Serbia? Those who advocate for such a mission aren’t thinking through the consequences. Regardless of whether Kosovo is "reconquered" peacefully (which seems highly unlikely in this century) or through military force, Serbia would be left with a significant Albanian minority. Given our current electoral system, that would make them political kingmakers.
Are those pushing for war ready to accept the possibility of an Albanian prime minister or an Albanian minister of internal affairs? I highly doubt it. The only alternative would be ethnic cleansing or, even worse, atrocities we should never repeat. Do we really need more war crimes? Haven't the last 35 years been enough?
A military takeover of Kosovo would turn Serbia into an international pariah, with devastating economic consequences that we simply can't afford. The idea of "reconquering" Kosovo in this way isn't just unrealistic—it's self-destructive.
alpidzonka@reddit
We're not even "preparing", much less prepared.
Those who argue for such a thing are dishonest. Essentially, no one actually wants this.
No, if it's through military force, the idea is to initiate something like the refugee crisis after Operation Storm or the reconquest of Nagorno-Karabakh. Whether we'll call it ethnic cleansing or whatever is kind of irrelevant, but Serbian society basically just wants them gone.
Sure, that's an argument for the dishonest crowd who talk about peaceful reintegration.
Not for most people, it would seem. Especially since we were "righteous" and "legal", and "fought against terrorists" for our national "sovereignty and territorial integrity". Most people won't admit to... any war crimes on our side, basically.
Yeah, maybe, unless identitarians and other rabid islamophobes take control of the EU. Kind of what most Serbs are hoping for.
Idk. It's more destructive than self-destructive.

People seem to miss the whole point of those moves. The Trump administration is simply sending a message to Europeans that they won't be paying more money for unresolved affairs. Besides, Kosovo is mostly a German protectorate, with German industry benefitting from raw material extraction. So the US is trying to force Europe to a resolution. Imo, it will be a pro-Albanian resolution. Since Albania is the favourite child of the Americans. Trump doesn't have any good reason to surrender Kosovo. He is just pressing for action. And to be honest, it's about damn time that Europe wakes up from the slumber.

Buddy, no amount of mental gymnastics will hide that due to corruption, negligence and old school tyranny, Russia never stood a chance of taking over Ukraine.
So far, Russia waged wars through bully-democracy and invasions, so countries like 2014 Ukraine and 2008 Georgia held back, and never deployed a proper defense. Russia ran out of things to bully Ukraine with, Ukraine actually stood up to Russia this time.
And regarding us being bombed if we attempt to start shit, it all depends into what US-Rus relationship mutates into.
We live in the dumbest timeline yet.

AIbanian@reddit
Russia was very well equipped, they sent their tank armors to the Ukrainian border in July 2021 for a "training operation". So, most people did expect a war to break out.
Serbia, has a lot of military camps around the border of Kosova and they invest the most in the army industry compared to any other Western Balkan country not in EU.
Vucic already tried to invade on 24 September 2023 through his puppets from the North. Milan Radoicic and his 40 men entered the north to start a false flag operation. So I can expect something similar to happen.
However, It wouldn't be that smart for Serbia to start a conflict. Since the West will sanction them like there is no tomorrow. And after the sanctions I genuinely do believe he can be overthrown after he ruins the country's economy.
Moist_Ad2066@reddit

SkibidiDopYes@reddit
This is literal BS. First of all, our army is dogshit. Secondly, Vucic is so far up EU's ass that he wouldn't even think of going into Kosovo during his lifetime. Vucic is "okay" with Putin but he is by far mostly playing by EU's rules. There is literally 0.1% chance that the Serbian army (or anyone as a matter of fact) to step one foot into Kosovo. During his regime, Kosovo became literally fully independent with license plates, ID cars, their own Ministries, police, army, currency etc. (which I don't have a problem with, I don't care tbh). So yeah, literal dog water journalism.
anxhelasweet@reddit

A big reason the wars in the 90s were so deadly was JNA's large stockpile and arsenal of weapons. Now, those stockpiles don't exist anymore, and the Serbian army is not as big as it once was.
Also, even with inflamatory rhetoric, most people in Serbia don't actually want to fight a war.
Attack_na_battak@reddit
Compare to what? WWI ?
edwardkenw4y@reddit
Before 1999.
drminjak@reddit
The reason why it was so big is because of mobilization, any army in this whole entire world (except if your population is tiny) can become big with mobilization.
Attack_na_battak@reddit
That was Yugoslav army, not Serbian. Serbia was out of army from 1918, till 2006.
edwardkenw4y@reddit
Technically, yes, but you're engaging in semantics.
The army was Yugoslav in name only since 1991 - at the start of the wars in Croatia and Bosnia, almost all of the Yugoslav military firepower was left or given to the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) and to the Serbian forces in Republika Srpska Krajina (RSK). In other words, the Yugoslav army, at the end of its existence, only served Serb nationalist interests, which were contrary to the interests of other Yugoslav peoples and republics, except for Monfenegro, because Momir Bulatović was Milošević's ally.
Same can be said about the armed forces of the Fedeal Republic of Yugoslavia - the army that was nominally Yugoslav was the same army that participated in massacres of Albanians in Kosovo, whose bodies were later found in freezer trucks that surfaced from rivers in Serbia, and also in mass graves.
YugoCommie89@reddit
North Korea is absolutely democratic, little know fact but they actually have democratic voting based on which policies the party should focus on. They may not elect representatives but policy is what's more important anyways. So yes North Korea is democratic, just not in the way bougouis democracies want them to be.
The Yugoslav army on the other hand definitely wasn't serving the interests of the Yugoslav people, but the interests of Milošević and his nationalist chauvanists.
Several things can be true based on their own merit.
Attack_na_battak@reddit

First of all.
If the US leaves Kosovo, they will hand it over. That is where Erdogan comes in.
The Americans already gave him Syria.
What is happening is that the US can no longer afford to run the entire world. They are downsizing and handing over parts to their allies.
Think what you want, but Turkey is a very reliable partner to the US. Always has been.
The fact that Turkey and Russia are generally at odds also makes them reliable to the US.
Turkey has been providing Kosovo with its weapons systems as of late, and they would gladly take over the peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and the defence of BiH.
Remember that Turkey is in NATO. If Serbia even tried to invade Kosovo and attack Turkish troops, it would trigger article V and NATO gets involved.

Italy can’t even get vital infrastructure project up and running much less fight a war.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Italy has the best trains in Europe, wake up babe
scanfash@reddit
Yes with TrenItalias “weekly” strikes that means a lot. Italy does not have the demographics to even maintain basic infrastructure outside of Metropolitan areas or get high profile builds out the gate like Strait of Messina bridge. Add to that delays with their train upgrades a lot of it traceable to lack of manpower or 2018 Genoa bridge collapse
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
60 million people are not enough? lmao. We are even about to build the longest suspended bridge in the world. Frecciarossa is the best train in Europe (better than Germany, UK and France.
But this is not important, what is important in this context are our 2-3 aircraft carriers, 120 f-35, 120 Eurofighter, 60 tornado, etc etc etc. Can Serbia stop this? I HIGHLY doubt so Lmao
scanfash@reddit
Do you understand how demographics work? It’s not about 60 million but about the working age of the people and population pyramid or in Italy inverted period look at mean age of Italy now and look at it in 20 years and how much of the population is retired or close to retired and at following generations size compared to previous, it is a grim picture as is all of Europe but south and south Eastern Europe is especially grim.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
at the current state Italy can outmatch the whole East Europe together (the total GDP of Italy is higher than the whole East Europe combined), and is actually no match for Germany, UK and France as well. Even Russia has an inferior navy and air force compared to Italy now 🤣, and you are telling me Serbia (3 million people) is a threat to Italy? not even in 1000 years! What does Serbia have, a couple of jets? lmao.....
scanfash@reddit
Again you are completely skipping over basic facts and just looking at it from a right now perspective not how it will affect Italy in 5,10,20 years and if they are willing to sacrifice money wich is short and will be even shorter in the future, manpower that is already scarce. To fight a war of intervention that will not be popular with its own people most likely.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Serbia has 3 million people, not sure if you realize this. La spezia alone (a city near Genova) has actually more military means and industrial capacity than the entire Serbia. Stop comparing lions with ants
scanfash@reddit
You do realize Serbia is 6.6 million right + Serbs in neighboring countries probably puts them at 8 million ? Again you are comparing numbers in arbitrary sense, if you think Italy would go to all out war to protect a random region in the balkans you are delusional lol especially when Italy has far more pressing issues ahead rather than trying to assume the role of a local enforcer
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
You are overestimating Serbia. I don't even think soldiers are necessary. The navy will carpet bomb Serbia 24h, together with the navy air force and the air force. You can resist all you want but it will be 1999 again, where most of the jets and bases provided were Italian
scanfash@reddit
First of all I am not Serbian and don’t really have a foot in any sort of conflict regarding this. You just overestimate the military will and capabilities/funding of the Italian military and how far they will go for the region or how much geopolitical power wielding their population and economy can sustain
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Overestimating? The Italian armed forces are going to be incredibly big very soon, at the current moment they are the strongest in Europe (conventional war). Also, Italy has the biggest arm industries in Europe (Fincantieri and Leonardo. Leonardo is bigger than Rheinmetall).
You are assuming that Serbia will go past the Italian contingent. Overestimating the Serbian army (mostly non existent) is real crazy
scanfash@reddit
Italy is going to loose 6+ million people by 2050 wich is still factoring in immigration at current rates so overall number would probably be double that. Italy is not going to have a very big army very soon Italy is going to loose close to 15% of its population + in the next 25 years while increasing mean age from approx. 48 to 51.5 in the same time span. Do you have any actual idea of what a society loosing that amount of populace and a mean age of 50+ means my friend. You are just talking numbers but ignoring the reality. I guarantee you Italy will not do more than a few bombings if even that now and definitely not more in 5-10 years. Apart from that there are no specific defense pacts between Italy and Kosovo to my knowledge, apart from the NATO guarantee wich is going to be radically different if US pulls out. Apart from that this isn’t the 90s Serbia has advanced anti-air systems from France, Russia and China.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Serbia literally doesn't have an armed force. Not sure what you are talking about. Having 10 Mig is an air force? and a couple of air defences? don't be ridiculous. Not even Jugoslavia was remotely comparable to Italy, let alone Serbia lmao
scanfash@reddit
Sure Mr. loose 15% and mean age above 50
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Sure Mr 3 million people and 5 T-80 😂
scanfash@reddit
Saying 3 million just makes you sound dumb as it’s not factual where as what I said is current prognosis. Apart from that their anti air arsenal includes Mistral 3, Pantsir 1 and FK-3s so again do your research instead of spouting empty rhetoric
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
ah sorry, maybe you can stop the biggest F-35 and Eurofighter fleet in Europe with a couple of Pantsir?
How are you going to stop the navy with ZERO anti ship missiles? ahahah ridiculous. Get over it, if Serbia attacks Kosovo, it's 1999 again
scanfash@reddit
Who’s gonna sail the ships and fly the planes? A bunch of 50 year olds 🤣?

GrapefruitForward196@reddit
I clearly did.
But you wouldn't dare to say that the Renaissance was not the peak in human history for architecture, right, right?
Ah no wait, you think this is beautiful:
(I can't find a single picture of something decent in the Netherlands, so my meme is stopping here)
Lux2026@reddit
You tried to ridicule Dutch architectural achievements by mentioning a Franco-Dutch architectural style … in an “Italian” building. 😂
This is just like when you came up with that “leading Italian tech company” to shame the Dutch economy … only to find out that it was based in the Netherlands 🤣
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
"Franco-Dutch"
Ok, stop being in meme mode and be serious. No architecture was created in the Netherlands and yes, the Pantheon is still considered the best piece of architecture in the world.
Still standing literally intact after 2000 years with the same gate and everything lmaoooo

Lux2026@reddit
The Pantheon is beautiful, but it was built by the Romans … not the Italians.
There’s like 1000 year difference (and a lot of Germanic/Arab/Byzantine penises) in between those two groups.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
so by me? I was born in Rome.
ah wait, I forgot. The best architecture we have is actually middle age Italian.
Venice is the most beautiful city in the world. Ah no wait, it's Florence. No, it's Rome
Lux2026@reddit
No Italians are only related to Romans in that Ancient Roman vaginas + Germanic/Arab/Byzantine penises created Italians.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
well, not really.
"Modern Italians mainly descend from the ancient peoples of Italy, including Indo-European speakers (Romans and other Latins, Falisci, Picentes, Umbrians, Samnites, Oscans, Sicels, Elymians, Messapians and Adriatic Veneti, as well as Magno-Greeks, Cisalpine Gauls and Illyric Iapygians) and pre-Indo-European speakers (Etruscans, Ligures, Rhaetians Camunni, Sicani, Nuragic peoples), as well as settlers from Phoenicia and Carthage in Sardinia and in the westernmost part of Sicily."
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_history_of_Italy

Lux2026@reddit
Nope: you are merely the result of an Ancient Roman vagina and a Germanic/Arab/Byzantine penis.

Lux2026@reddit
Even if the Netherlands resisted national socialism and fascism for 1,5 days (which is far from the truth); then they did so for 1,5 days longer than Italy ever did.

Also, attacking Albanians now with Meloni is the same as attacking Italy itself.
biversnirds@reddit

GrapefruitForward196@reddit
I wouldn't consider a war with Serbia a proper war. Let's say anti-terrorism joint operation between the air force and the navy.
Let's call it "Operatio Illyricum Nostrum".
They are certainly staying, they are preparing for it. Kosovo is a free training ground for Carabinieri (military police), it would be more expensive.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ilmessaggero.it/AMP/mondo/kosovo_italia_truppe_americane_trump_putin-8669412.html
biversnirds@reddit
Yeah, and historically, Italy is a joke when talking about militaries and wars.
Wooow, the military police huh? I bet they eat drones much better than regular military lol
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
Sure? Italy destroyed the Ottoman empire 1vs1 in 1911 and hence, getting Lybia and the Dodecanese Islands. After that, Italy alone defeated the whole Austro-Hungarian empire and when the alpini were about to invade South Bavaria from North Tyrol, even Germany surrendered. After the war we took Trieste without even fighting (lmao) and in ww2 Jugoslavia crumbled in a couple of weeks (lmao again).
Don't talk about military achievements if you don't even have an army. Remember, in ww1 you survived only thanks to massive Italian help, if you state the opposite, you are just ignorant and you should really dig more on that
Lux2026@reddit
350k worth of Italian soldiers is like 20-25k (tops) when converted to real soldiers.

Of all European middle and major powers, Italy is by far the biggest joke.
GrapefruitForward196@reddit
No it's false, Ethiopia was an Italian colony since 1935.
Italy was holding the whole Mediterranean alone, Germany didn't even have a decent surface fleet. Learn about this.
Barely ---> austro - Hungary ceased to exist after Italy won at Vittorio Veneto and put an end to the Austro-Hungarian armed forces. Just history. Germany and AH 2vs1 were completely annihilated in Monte Grappa and Piaver river. Just history mate.
TENTAtheSane@reddit
Italy lost to ethiopia in 1896 and 1889

No, only in Italy when they disappeared.
They did eventually, Greece was about to collapse anyway.
It was just an expeditionary force of a few thousands. Ethiopia had a million strong army trained by Germany, they could have annexed Serbia easily actually.
Now let's talk about Serbia, literally zero military achievements ever since. Not even one lmao .... ww1? The most part was Italian help to Serbia. Did the Afrika korps actually do something? no. Literally a terrible performance. In Greece? wow, against a defeated enemy that has 98% of the troops on the border with Albania? ahahah

Flashy_Race_7812@reddit
Idk man, many Kosovars i know are insanely into US and rather have them instead of Türkiye..
Just recently i saw a post about Kosovars hating on us.. so are they really worth protecting? I’d rather have Türkiye protect a Turkic/Turkish country at this point. Whenever the majority of a country doesn’t support us, we always get a pointless backlash.
NoInfluence5747@reddit
I'm as "anti-turkish" and "atheism good, turkish imposed islam bad" as they come amongst Kosovars and even amongst my circles nobody hates Turkey. A very small minority of Kosovars who think God created Earth and gave it all to pure Christian Albanians who then gave some to the Greeks and Turks may hate Turks, but that's fewer than a nightclubs' amount of people. If push comes to shove I'm pretty sure we will fight alone so there's no need for you to defend us, but I'd advise you to not be ragebaited by a loud minority.
Atvaaa@reddit

Idgf about what the public thinks, they will get killed if Serbs enter there (which won't happen in a million years but anyway).

Eh most of the time that doesn't add up to anything.
hostes_victi@reddit
There is still hope that cooler heads will prevail and talk sense into Trump before he sends the entire region to chaos.
The reason why American presence is so important is the deterrence aspect. If there is a risk to harming American personnel, that's a risk to angering the Americans and that's not something Serbia wants to do, especially since their air superiority is unmatched.
But if it happens, here are my predictions
Lastly, I keep seeing comments here downplaying the seriousness of the situation. The Serbian army is powerful, the Serbs have an axe to grind and Vucic is playing the wannabe dictator. If situation at home grows desperate, he'll turn his attention to Kosovo to cool things down. Stop the copium.
Calm_Tale1111@reddit
You are forgeting the fact that people in Balkans aren’t the same in steppes where Putler is using them in the meatgrinder. If Serbia do try, the statehood of Serbia will weaken and bb Vojvodina.

Don't worry, Serbia does not have a powerful army. But Serbia and Serbian people are pumping the system and Vucic. Of course he will do what he does the best and promise the people Kosovo back.
Just to be clear - hardly anybody in Serbia gives shit about Kosovo, and even less people would go in any kind of war. Most of the Vucic's supporters doesn't know to point Kosovo on the map.
And the most important thing is that Vucic's support and power are melting as the days are passing on. More and more people are opening each day and going out to the streets.

Can this happen? Absolutely, Serbia is able to invade Kosova from the north. I wouldn't rule that out. Serbia invests more in their army than Kosova, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia combined.
Would it be a smart idea? Definitely not! Serbia can expect a huge amount of sanctions from the West. What Europe doesn't need right now is a second front of war. They will heavily sanction Serbia, like Russia. Maybe even harder since they have the upper hand and don't rely on anything Serbian.

The russians left in 1955, it is past time the Americans left as well

"Powerful Serbian army" is a joke of the week
xClaydee@reddit
If you guys think 4.5k troops are what is preventing a war then you are delusional. Out of these troops only 600 are from the US. Kos_data is a joke btw.
Hopeful_Drama_3850@reddit
If that happens, I will always remember the Serbs who protested in mass against it. We tend to demonize Serbs as a whole but most of them are against the war.

Compared to its regional rivals yes.
Compared to NATO presence in the area , no

I can understand Europe being in fear about the impending Ukraine sellout in Saudi Arabia. But in fear about Kosovo!!! Come on! Even the EU can easily handle the Kosovo situation without the US.
Aggressive_Limit2448@reddit
Non EU Balkan is a time bomb despite that three countries of Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro are part of NATO.
Look at Bosnia or North Macedonia. There is increased nationalistic and separatist movements that stall the EU path.
Serbia is a destabilising factor because of its history in the 90s.
According to simple fact that changes reality in Europe the Russian plan includes division of Bosnia and North Macedonia. Kosovo should be sealed with division over the north.
This aims to fully block the EU. All of the Balkan nationalists are aligned with the new American administration and await bilateral meetings to stall the EU paths of their countries, however as I said Serbia plays the pivotal rule due to it's direct Russian proxy.

Powerful Serbian army 🤣 Also, Vučić is crazy, but giving arms to the people that are protesting against him would be the craziest thing any dictator ever did. That army would very quickly end up in Belgrade. I don't know who wrote that, but they are so out of touch they could be Vučić himself 😂

Kos_data is shit

Don't worry guys, Vučić stacked army with loyalist officers, worst they can do is throw sandwiches at you.

Powerful Serbian army? Really?
I mean... it's an army alright, but I wouldn't be stretching the word "powerful", like as if I want to fill a Durex condom with 50 liters of water, just to describe Serbia's armed forces.
