I had Mortal Kombat growing up and man... were those things terrible, especially if you played the original games they were based on. Still, they were portable and helped pass the time away on long trips, especially if you didn't have a Game Boy.
waywardviking208@reddit
I loved Konami’s shape for the ninja turtles handheld. That being said these games were frustrating and already seemed outdated to me in the late 80s when most of us were playing game boy or game gear for handhelds then
Safe-Mortgage6919@reddit
I have this one too. I got it for my birthday in 1st grade and a kid stole it from my book bag and told the teacher it was his and she believed him. Years later as an adult, I found it at a garage sale. Great game
waywardviking208@reddit
I’m glad your stolen property was returned… maybe just maybe it was the same console
djseifer@reddit (OP)
Probably still easier than TMNT on the NES. Damn dam level...
Horizontal_Bob@reddit
I har that exact game. Still do somewhere.
iamleeg@reddit
I had this one, and Altered Beast 2.
RylosAU@reddit
I have the three Street Fighter 2 ones. I'd love to get my hands on the watch game they made too, one day.
legotheoffice@reddit
Double Dragon! The screen stopped illuminating after a while lol.
BendingUnit221@reddit
I had a bunch, my favorite was ninja gaiden or bo jackson football on e side and spin it around for bo jackson baseball.
clorox2@reddit
Still have my Tiger Sonic handheld. And my Nintendo Snoopy Game and Watch.
Safe-Mortgage6919@reddit
I have sonic, Spider-Man, X-men and the mortal kombat one that has the pop out light.
ChrisTGIK@reddit
I had Batman and Baseball. Maybe a couple of others, but I played the crap out of Batman and Baseball.
Ok_Connection2874@reddit
Played the Baseball one until it stopped working. Wore that s.o.b. out
alien-1001@reddit
My husband just bought me a handheld Tetris today! I can't wait to get the contra one!
Mom-all-knowing@reddit
Days of Thunder racing. Loved it!
johnvalley86@reddit
I still have my Aladdin one. I gave it to my 9-year-old so he could check it out. Fired it up and he just looked at me like what the fuck is this?
096624@reddit
Never seemed to have batteries!
NtotheO@reddit
I had a little mermaid one!
Logical_Two5639@reddit
did you get Beauty and the Beast, too? that was my second favorite!
NtotheO@reddit
No, sadly just the one, but it was super fun and is possibly in my mother's attic.
Hour_Balance_7296@reddit
Same! That one and a Ninja Turtle one.
Munchkin531@reddit
Me too! This was a must-have for any car ride.
MasterDave@reddit
Bo Jackson football AND Baseball all in one here. Doppler stupid, was awesome.
Son_of_Eraserhead@reddit
Even as a kid they only provided about 15 min of excitement.
Logical_Two5639@reddit
my eyes glossed over your /u/ and for a hot second I interpreted this as a post about an Eraserhead Tiger game.
CapnHowdysPlayhouse@reddit
Police Academy and it was sweet
Logical_Two5639@reddit
no freaking way! that's amazing!
Logical_Two5639@reddit
Little Mermaid for me 🐙 I begged my mom to get it for me at Ames. Did the trick until GameBoy came into my life.
Accomplished_Pen980@reddit
I'm seeing. These at Game Stop again.
AgeScary@reddit
They all sucked but I kept getting them. Lol
squish042@reddit
Yep! I had baseball and my brother got football.
R1Alvin@reddit
Can confirm all of the scratches on the screen from Chucking these devices at the floor full gas. 🤣
cat_at_the_keyboard@reddit
I got this shit when I asked for a game boy for my birthday. I think I had Aladdin and Lion King and they both sucked
Dependent_Bill8632@reddit
I had a whole “arcade” of them because that’s all my on and dad could usually afford. And yes, my favorite was the green TMNT game!
Retina400@reddit
Batman Returns. Completed it many times. Loved how easy it was
SerpentineSorceror@reddit
I had Batman, and between me and my dad we played the absolute HELL out of that thing. But beating the shit out of the Joker never stopped being fun.
SonRyu6@reddit
I had quite a few: Gauntlet, TMNT, Batman, Double Dragon, among others. Wish I still had them.
Roller_ball@reddit
Even through the rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia, they are still a piece of shit.
prolikewhoa@reddit
The little handheld water games where you squeeze the button and shoot rings everywhere were more fun than these horrible Tiger handheld games.
johnnloki@reddit
They were back then when you were 6, also.
Coyote_Roadrunna@reddit
Had Simon's Quest and Double Dragon. Perfect for the bus ride to school every morning circa 1991.
brian11e3@reddit
They still make them. I bought the Ninja Gaiden one for a friend for nostalgia purposes last year.
Seanna86@reddit
Had A Tiger? I had quite a few. Favorites were the Little Mermaid and Pit Fighter.
OkPie8905@reddit

satchelchargers@reddit
I had a pinball one that was actually pretty good.
heyitscory@reddit
I played Batman until I maxed out the score. I just jumped over the boss fight boomerang for like 3 hours.
Still the only reason I know the name Ivan Ironman Stewart.
EvenSpoonier@reddit
Batman and Pinball. I also had a Wrestlemania one that wasn't by Tiger.
LostViking24601@reddit
Gauntlet all day
DrAsthma@reddit
We had a few at our house. I had the boot Jackson one, which was double sided and had both baseball and footbal. I loved it so much. my sister had tiny toons... I think we had the karnov one too
Shagggadooo@reddit
Is that the one with the swipe cards? If so, I had it. Lol
Spartan04@reddit
I had a few. I had a car racing one, a bowling one, and a pinball one (I especially remember that one since it was blue instead of the typical white).
Once I got a Game Boy though I pretty much stopped playing them and didn’t get any more.
Mithrandir_Holmes@reddit
I had baseball pinball and bowling. Bowling was my fave

I had the Altered Beast wristwatch. Not surprisingly the cheap rubber wristband broke off fairly quickly.
OkPie8905@reddit
I forgot that game. I wanted watch games to be a thing
Dr-McLuvin@reddit
I had like 2 of these and I played them until my hands bled.
One was Batman Returns.
https://youtu.be/VHXjECtkv60?si=TNlQs8Mvvc_Kxewp
The other one was some game that involved a guy who could blow fireballs and I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called.
ChemistryFit6170@reddit
still have my Paperboy
IndianaJoenz@reddit
I had Mortal Kombat, Batman and Double Dragon.
Yes, they were all terrible.
fatbuddha66@reddit
My parents were too poor to get me a Game Boy, so I’d get these for Christmas. Simon’s Quest, X-Men, Spiderman, Jurassic Park.
silverwarbler@reddit
Omg yeah! My dad traveled a lot for work and brought some.home from Asia in the early 80's
PizzaWhole9323@reddit
I don't know if it was tiger. But when I was 10 my grandfather bought me the little LED Battlestar Galactica game. I played that thing until the light literally burnt out in it. It was one of my first introductions to gaming in fact. :-)
johndicks80@reddit
No they were too pricey for my parents taste. My neighbor let me borrow his for a week though.
Wpgjetsfan19@reddit
I played them at the store 😔. Had some knock off soccer one that wasn’t bad
TheREALBaldRider@reddit
I only had bowling
