After 8 years I am finally upgrading my build. I am trying to figure out whats gonna be the best CPU for 4070 Super / 5070.
My options are:
7 7700x
7 5700x3d
The best pick would be 7 7800x3d but its too pricey. Any suggestions? Thanks!

7600x works great with my 4070 super. Felt no need to upgrade yet. 150+ fps on iracing with everything on high. 49 ultrawide 1440p

The 5700X3D performs similar to non-X3D 7000 series in games. If you already have an AM4 mobo and DDR4 RAM, it is a solid upgrade. If you're building entirely new, go AM5.

5700X3D makes sense ONLY if you are already on AM4 and you want to do a cheap upgrade, otherwise 7700X is the best pick for brand new platform.

7700X all the way beacause it's more modern, the IPC is faster and give you more future proof considering that AM5 will be active until DDR6 RAM comes out.

i’ve only heard great things from both of these. if price is your concern watch some in depth breakdowns of them. one may have +5fps in gaming and wayyy better workload performance for a bigger price.
or one may have slightly worse workload performance so you can make a more educated decision on YOUR personal needs
like im a senior in engineering and a gamer so i NEED to pick one that suits both heavy rendering and gaming performance.
i just smoked i dont know if my thoughts are translating clearly but in short if your buying a truck but never tow do you NEED a diesel or a smaller gasoline truck, both will do what you need plenty from an interior standpoint but once you start breaking it down they will each have their pros and cons to your application
