Rehoming Pez
Posted by heyitsmelxd@reddit | Dallas | View on Reddit | 26 comments

I’m looking for a loving home for Pez, a 5 year old French Bulldog. I originally took her in from my mother when she could no longer care for her, but unfortunately, Pez and my toddler don’t get along. While I’ve been keeping them separated, she gets nervous when he’s near her and has growled and nipped before. With our family growing, I no longer feel comfortable keeping her in our home.
I’ve reached out to family and friends over the past few weeks, but no one is able to take her, so I’m hoping to find the right home through this post. Pez is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves to cuddle. She’s low energy, making her a great apartment dog. She’s happy with short walks and lots of lounging. She gets along well with other dogs, but I’m not sure how she is with cats.
Ideally, she’d go to a home without young children, as she seems uncomfortable around them. If you or someone you know is looking for a loving companion, please reach out. I just want to find her a safe and happy place where she’ll thrive.
Feel free to message me with any questions or for more details!

I adopted my poodle from Dallas dog rescue, they may be able to help

My dog is also from Dallas DogRRR but I think they’re virtually always at capacity. :(

PLEASE do not rehome this dog on Reddit. Surrender her to a trusted source like https://dfwfrenchbulldogrescue.org

I literally just got an email from them that they’re unable to take her in due to not having space. I’ve also gotten in touch with Operation Kindness and Lone Star Rescue and received the same answer from them. I’ve tried for weeks to find her a home with family or friends, and during that time it’s become difficult to keep my toddler and her separated. She doesn’t tolerate him in her space and his safety is my number 1 priority. I genuinely don’t know what else to do.

I’m so sorry in that case! I wish there was a better option. I worry about people on Reddit being sketchy.

Please reach out for help French Bulldog Rescue Network if you haven’t already and aren’t able to find a good home 🙏🏼

I’ve reached out twice to them and have yet to hear back! Maybe because of the behavior she’s shown toward my son? I’ve also reached out to Operation Kindness and they did reach out, but are at max capacity and unable to take her.

This was the other group that was willing to take in my mom's Frenchie, but FBRN was able to take her in sooner, so I went with them. Good luck! https://lonestardogranch.com/

FBRN just emailed me back saying they’re unable to take her due to space. I also emailed Lone Star Dog and hope to hear from them.

Just saw another of your comments...Dfw French Bulldog Rescue is not the same as French bulldog Rescue Network (FBRN). Just in case you were confused. FBRN is all over the country and doesn't keep any dogs in house- they use individual fosters in the area.

Thank you so much for trying to help! I reallly appreciate it.
I emailed the person you indicated in a previous comment (w3a-ric@fbrn.net) and they said they can’t take her at this time.
I also submitted two surrender forms in the https://dfwfrenchbulldogrescue.org website. As well as a couple of other nearby rescues.

I'm sorry 😞. The dog ranch in Anna was fairly quick to respond to me in December, so hopefully, you'll hear from them soon! You're doing a good thing trying to find a rescue that knows the breed well!

Email the local chapter- w3a-ric@fbrn.net . I had to surrender my mom's Frenchie back in December, and they responded to me the same day. They were great to work with, and I know my mom's dog will be well taken care of.

That should not be an issue, I’m pretty sure FBRN takes all frenchies. They just add the pup’s preferences to their adoption profile. I hope they reach out or you find a home for her! I had a frenchie and he was also wary of kiddos

I reached out to them 2 weeks ago and just tried again on Thursday. I’m really hoping to hear back because ideally she’d go to a rescue who could place her in an appropriate home. Someone who understands the breed (brachycephalic, allergies, etc.) and understands the type of environment she needs to be happy. We love her very much and this situation has been very heartbreaking for my family.
