Probably gonna get roasted BUT what are these high flying jets I regularly see over my house in NJ? Doesn't show on flight radar.

Saw 2 today back to back and I have seen them pretty regularly. Assuming military?
Odd_Low_7301@reddit
They’re the cancer jets. Stand under their flight path for too long, and you’ll get cancer.

Chem trails? Cloud seeding?

Download FlightRadar24 and use the AR mode to point at them when they fly over next. You’re probably looking in the wrong area.

Didn't know they had that will check out! This plane was right over a smaller one that was showing on the radar but couldn't ID this one.

As you start using it more, you'll get better at matching. Distance can be hard to judge.
Some flights are blocked, be it private jets or military, but these all look like they should show up.

Your "Right over" is probably off by miles to the side.

Yeah this is a fun tool if you navigate around its interface.

Just put your laser down.

ive seen a plane that seemed pretty close above me but it was at the other end of my city

It's one of them drones.

Hard to tell what color they are, if they're gray and blend in better then it's military but this very well could be a regular commercial flight.

Flight radar is a toy. Use https://globe.adsbexchange.com/
richbiatches@reddit
Just twin engined commercial jets

I'd try SONAR. Planes move thru a SEA OF AIR, so...

In all seriousness these jets are probably so far away from you that you’re looking in the wrong place on the map.
2fast2nick@reddit
For sure. I’m surprised people in Vegas can see the SpaceX launches off the coast of California.
TheVoicesSpeakToMe@reddit
Could be military. Wouldn’t surprise me. NJ is right under the flight paths of any plane flying from Europe/middle east, to say, DC or Philadelphia.
Could also just be a private aircraft of some sort. Rich guys that own 737s, a320s. You can ask the FAA to hide your ADSB from most websites. There are a few like ADSB Exchange that will let you track pretty much anything that’s putting out a signal.

Thx' !

Maybe it’s a government plane? I once saw a 747 flying right above my house but it wouldn’t show up on Flightradar24. Turned out to be Air Force One.

Chemtrails!
Goonie-Googoo-@reddit
Could be military. They may show up on ADSB Exchange though using something like MLAT. There's a lot of military aircraft that don't use ADSB for one reason or another.
RocketKnight71@reddit
You assume they are jets, but how can we be sure they are even human in design?
BurtHurtmanHurtz@reddit
Chinese.
What are you doing in your house?
