But I hate radishes in real life. They’re like salad landmines. I’ll eat radishes when everything else edible on earth is gone thx
binnedittowinit@reddit
holy shit. here's a memory I forgot I had until now!
IceSmiley@reddit
I didn't know these characters came from a show until I was an adult lol but I had all 4. I thought they were just McDonald's characters like Grimace and Hamburglar 😂
FrankieStalion9@reddit
Goosebumps.
CuzTrain@reddit
I loved the Garfield toys
WhyteBeard@reddit
Fuuuuck, back when McDonalds toys were good
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
What's funny is that's the exact same skateboard that came with muppet babies kermit.
CuzTrain@reddit
The one I had was red, like this

These are the very first McDonald’s toys I remember! I don’t know what it was like elsewhere in the world, but Happy Meals never existed at McDonald’s in Australia until these bad boys came along. We were lucky if we got to eat at Macca’s once a month normally, but my mum and stepdad took me there once a week to get a Happy Meal while the Muppets toys were available. If I remember correctly, the Happy Meals were supposed to be a one-time promotional thing, but they were so popular Macca’s brought them back as a permanent thing.
I also remember when Pizza Hut had dine-in restaurants in Australia and they ran a Land Before Time promotion. My stepdad’s favourite character was Spike, so he found out which week the Spike hand puppet was going to be available and we got to go for dinner one night that week. Once the Spike hand puppet was purchased, my stepdad gave it red LED eyes, velcroed it down to his car’s parcel shelf, and spliced into his car’s brake light wiring so that Spike’s eyes would light up when the brakes were on.

That's so great. The girl next door and I would play with our Muppet Babies Happy Meal toys together. We built little shoebox houses for them.
She was from Minnesota and said "Coke" like "kook". I thought that was so exotic.
I remember the Land Before Time puppets from Pizza Hut too. But let me ask you- did you guys have the show "Alf"? Or Burger King? Burger King had Alf puppets you could get and I loved mine. It had a Hawaiian shirt.
GaryNOVA@reddit
I had all 5
CheezeLoueez08@reddit
Fozzie!! I had him!!
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Yeah, different color, but it looks like they used the same mold.
CuzTrain@reddit
If I remember correctly, the Garfield one was a bit smaller and more banana shaped.
OkPie8905@reddit (OP)
So did my brother I’m sending him this pic lol
ChromeDestiny@reddit
I'd forgotten about those, I had the middle two. I also had a few of the Fraggle Rock ones and most of the Muppet Babies ones. My family went to McDonalds a lot I think my dad had also had them give him the latest Happy Meal toy when he picked up a lunch order for his work.
AspiringDataNerd@reddit
OMG I still have mine and keep it on my desk!
booksbutmoving@reddit
Same but Red, Keeper of the Games.
Intelligent_Flow2572@reddit
It bugged me that Red was attached to her car.
VTRibeye@reddit
Loved these, but my all-time fave was a Mr Happy plushy that when you squeezed sang a little "doo-do-doo-doo-doo" song. Snaffled one while working there, they were really popular. We kept it in my family's kitchen for years, and we'd all give him a squeeze when we were feeling a bit down or stressed.
MercenaryArtistDude@reddit
I miss my Muppet Babies stuffed Kermit and Fozzie.
McDonald's toys (and glasses) were next fkn level back in the day (a Wednesday, btw).
fruitjerky@reddit
I have my Muppet Babies right next to me! Fozie is the one I never got though.
Cutthechitchata-hole@reddit

My younger self is buzzing seeing these toys
frostedsun8282@reddit
I forgot about these.
elMurpherino@reddit
Ooh I’ve got these in a box down in my basement somewhere. When I was cleaning out my grandmas house after she died years ago I found that she kept tons of the McDonald’s toys I got after I got bored of them
CheezeLoueez08@reddit
I had Fozzie. Miss him.
lopingwolf@reddit
This was the one time I convinced my parents to take me to a different McDonalds. I don't know how I knew in elementary school that I couldn't complete the set until we went to the one on Capital, not the one on Port Washington. But it was true and I was ecstatic to have all of them.
arcanebrain@reddit
Oh snap, I had all these and loved them! Wish I had managed to hang onto them, OG Fraggle Rock is the GOAT
justawaterisfine@reddit
My mom saved every happy meal toy I ever got. There’s a huge bag at her house Ill have to get a pic of some time
ironic-hat@reddit
The quality of 80s McDonalds toys is without peer to the ones they give away today. Consider yourself lucky is the product does require adult assembly….
JoeSpic01@reddit
Yesssss!!!!!
RandomGuyDroppingIn@reddit
My mother is a bit of a hoarder and kept all of my McDonalds toys in large popcorn tins. Two of them specifically. It was all lost some years ago when my parents home suffered from a flood and it destroyed near everything they had in storage.
I remember some personal favorites were the transformer type McDonalds products and the nuggets that you could swap pieces on to one another.
OreoSpamBurger@reddit
Fraggle Stick Car!?
WTF is that!?
GeorgeTheSpaceDog@reddit
This is why I came here. Thank you.
URfwend@reddit
Chilindrina22@reddit
Yes! Didn’t they also release some that flipped over and had a character on both sides?
TeaMe06@reddit
Awwwww I had these I miss it so much 💜

The McNuggets where you could mix and match the costumes. So many hours playing with them. I still have a few.
clumsystarfish_@reddit
This is an unlocked core memory. Thank you! I loved the Fraggles and had all of these.
tobethesky@reddit
Me, too! I can vividly remember sitting in our family friends' kitchen and playing with these.
Vivid-Imagination-13@reddit
BTW, Fraggle Rock was re-booteda couple years ago on Apple TV, I believe, and you can find the originals on Amazon.
Tim-Sylvester@reddit
Fraggle Rock fucked
Vivid-Imagination-13@reddit
I absolutely still have the radish car! I love it. My kids play with it. There are some Fry Guys around here, too.
Drslappybags@reddit
The transforming McDonald's food.
Aeronor@reddit
That was my jam. Gosh those were cool to me as a kid
Drslappybags@reddit
Not as cool as real transformers but way cooler than Gobots.
DifferenceLost5738@reddit
I remember having all of them as a kid, so much fun!
LadyBawdyButt@reddit
Salad landmines 😂 so true
valthonis_surion@reddit
My core memory is on the McDonalds food transformers.
moxvoxfox@reddit
I love radishes, and I’m confident I was game to try them when I was young because of Fraggle Rock. I think I favored carrots due to Bugs Bunny too. But it took a lot more than Popeye to get me to enjoy spinach.
nayrlladnar@reddit
I had the carrot dude.
wondersparrow@reddit
My kids have the carrot dude and still play with it.
OkPie8905@reddit (OP)
My mom sold them all at a garage sale when she thought the collectibles fad ended. I was ok with it cause I got a Nintendo game from the sale. But I bought jaws. It sucked
left-of-the-jokers@reddit
Core memory unlocked
1_art_please@reddit
I would set up my parents dictionaries in a line, build some Lego buildings and race my fraggle cars down the row of dictionaries. Fun times :)
Typeintomygoodear@reddit
I still have mine!
indecisivesloth@reddit
I always wanted to try those buildings. I imagine they taste like rock candy.
KingRobert85@reddit
I had the carrot and the pickle
Grilledstoner@reddit
My kid spent several months over the summer collecting this set from random game stores
Atrocious1337@reddit
I had all of those except the green one.
