On the eighth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Eight comic books
Seven packs of smokes
Six packs of two four
Five golden toquessssssss
Four pounds of back bacon
Three French toast
Two turtlenecks
And a beer on my tree
(I think they mentioned something about 12 donuts and other things, but that's kinda how the song ended)
Wr live in Alberta now but lived in BC for a while and drove to LA down the I-5 and back up the coast highway. Beautiful on the way back. We loved Oregon and visited a lot during our time in BC.
I know of them. Mackenzie brothers. Bob and Doug played by Rick Morannis and Dave Thomas. I know who they are and what show this skit is from. SCTV BUT it is slightly before my time. Why I'm getting Gen x suggestions, I don't know.. I'm an early milleneal. What a stupid name. Milleneal. I missed out on a cool generational name by 3 years.
I used this movie to indoctrinate my friends and younger siblings, and then unleashed the steamroller on their unsuspecting little bodies (I was also a child, which I've been told makes me legally non-culpable for all the things I may have allegedly done).
When my own children were big enough for casual horseplay and general roughhousing, I introduced them to this sacred ritual of log-like trial by combat. They both loved the concept even without ever having any context (and I can't imagine them being remotely interested in watching an art film like Strange Brew anytime soon).
My dad, brother and myself used to have “hoser” meetings when my mom would leave for a weekend. We watched this movie and instantly emulated the McKennzie brothers
This movie has the hardest drinking game ever. You take a sip every time they say eh or hoser. Finish the drink if someone else says it. Drank almost an 18 pack during that 90 minute movie. Had to pause it a lot.

BC, Oregon and Washington would make a great country. It’s all Cascadia anyway.
