New_me_310@reddit
Now bring back Boku 🙏🏻
Emotional_Site1786@reddit
YESSSS those were so good!!
New_me_310@reddit
I will spend the rest of my days searching out the flavor profile that was Boku Black Cherry White Grape. Some dry plum wines that are served in Japanese restaurants are very similar. Not the sweet syrupy ones, it has to be the dryer more white-wine-ish one. Sigh.
Emotional_Site1786@reddit
I don't remember what flavor it was but I was in Kindergarten and the Boku my mom packed for me in my lunch box turned to slush because it was up against the icepack. It was a delight.
sator-2D-rotas@reddit
Yes, but I found the reality didn’t live up to the memory when I bought one.
carthuscrass@reddit
They're not as good as they used to be in my opinion. Too much carbonation and not enough flavor.
Shitty-Bear@reddit
It's giving off Orbitz vibes. It's a drink from the late 90s. 😆
Chilindrina22@reddit (OP)
I remember Orbitz and Snapple 😂
Kenway@reddit
Oh god no. Orbitz were terrible.
No_Classic_1743@reddit
Waiting for Orbitz to make a comback.
One_Breakfast6153@reddit
They do not taste like they used to. These are yucky.
Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans@reddit
They taste exactly the same.
One_Breakfast6153@reddit
Nah, they taste like they have stevia in them.
Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans@reddit
They are made with pure cane sugar.
You sure you're not thinking of the 0 calorie version?
One_Breakfast6153@reddit
Not sure - it's been about a year since I tried them.
Cerebral-Knievel-1@reddit
They are Indeed legit
Big-Apricot-9694@reddit
Been around for decades. Use to drink them in the 90’s out on the boat
draculasbloodtype@reddit
Waaaaay sweeter than I remember them being as a kid. I couldn't finish the bottle.
NemeanMiniLion@reddit
Less sugar than most sodas if I remember right. I've always thought of these as semi sweet, in terms of sodas.
igbadbanned@reddit
24 grams of sugar. Ew.
Expensive-Day-3551@reddit
Same. I don’t remember them being sweetened that much at all. Not sure if they changed the formula or if I’ve gotten used to la croix and similar
actionerror@reddit
Yeah or do drinks like Le Croix change our tastes for these things?
draculasbloodtype@reddit
I have never had Le Croix so it wouldn’t be that for me.
Dizzy-Homework203@reddit
It's sparkling water with delicious fruit flavors. I guess some "hipster" might consider this stuff "trendy" because lots of people like it but it's only "trendy" because it has legitimate value (of being delicious, better than soda and much healthier).
La_Croix_Life@reddit
User name clocking in! 👋
Dizzy-Homework203@reddit
😹
VelocityGrrl39@reddit
It tastes like someone ate a watermelon and then burped into sparkling water.
bobwoodwardprobably@reddit
Are we still calling people hipsters?
Dizzy-Homework203@reddit
Le Croix Coconut for the win!
CharlieMoonMan@reddit
Tbh i think it is our grown up taste buds bc i had the same reaction.
Cherry_Hammer@reddit
Same. I was soooo disappointed ☹️. I can’t believe I used to drink that stuff like it was life-giving water
brodievonorchard@reddit
If you're anything like me, that's because back then there was soda to drink everywhere you went, and now you mostly drink water.
GuiltyPiglet5882@reddit
Ha! I saw them and decided to not fuck with my memories. Black Cherry was my jam back in the day.
actionerror@reddit
Mine was always Strawberry 🍓
Searchlights@reddit
I think maybe they were always that way but back then we were used to high fructose corn syrup in everything
BigBoxOfGooglyEyes@reddit
I thought the same thing, but if you mix it with plain seltzer water it's perfect. For my tastes, I like it with 2 parts seltzer to 1 part Clearly Canadian.
Candid_Tart9070@reddit
Yeah Rhett and Link brought them back. Lol a long time ago
Psychedelica45@reddit
Yes. I buy them by the case at Sam’s club!
Intrepid-Nose2434@reddit
In the 80s I was a kid. Around 88, 89, I love these. My mother bought them cause it was the only way I drank water. They are pretty good.
RoncoSnackWeasel@reddit
These, and New York Seltzers were my jam.
Sumthin-Sumthin44692@reddit
Tastes and feels like syrup water.
Elethuir@reddit
I enjoyed them as a kid they are sweet just a heads up
AggravatingPay2880@reddit
Found a 12 pack variety box (Blackberry, Raspberry, Wild Cherry, Peach) at Sams Club for $18... I bought two 😁
VetteBuilder@reddit
Can we please have Fruitopia and Sobe?
DevelopmentNo8162@reddit
ByrdistheWorld@reddit
I was drinking those in the late 80’s
GargantuanGreenGoats@reddit
YES YES YES YES YES.
I saw them at healthy planet. I got wild cherry and blackberry and they were just as good as I remember.
wescoast2371@reddit
Tried one last summer for shits and giggles. The bottle was hard to get through just a total sugar bomb. Yuck
Academic_Deal7872@reddit
I buy the case at costco, I have to add plain sparkling water to it.
thomasjmarlowe@reddit
They taste horrible- not sure if my tastes changed that much or what but blech
alien-1001@reddit
I love it. I also find the flavour quite aggressive so I'm happy it comes with a screw cap to save some for Ron.
TeaMe06@reddit
These are so good I drink they every other day but it’s $3 in my area and they are smaller sad 😔 I wish it was bigger they taste so damn good lol
Chilindrina22@reddit (OP)
These were $2.79 at a South TX, Wally World.
asdf130@reddit
I always thought the cherry ones tasted like a ketchup packet mixed up in a bottle of water.
Username_NullValue@reddit
Fuck that noise. “Sparkling Water Beverage”.
It’s soda - like a Sprite.
Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans@reddit
No it's not. Soda is made with syrup.
It's not deceptive marketing, you just don't know what you're talking about.
Username_NullValue@reddit
This is sugar and carbonated water. Soda is sugar and carbonated water. Pretty damn similar.
It’s not like Perrier or Sanpellegeino flavored waters.
SpaceAdventures3D@reddit
Bought one last year, being surpised to see the brand back on the shelves. I sas running errands and forgot to bring my waterbottle, so I picked up a drink. Clearly Canadian was in the water section.
I couldnt finish even half the bottle. I had either forgotten how much sugar was in these, or they are more sugary now. It didnt help that these were placed in the same store fridge as waters.
LeavesOfBrass@reddit
I truly don't understand the question
_ItReddit_@reddit
Nee York Seltzers were/are still the best
harperv215@reddit
This just brought back a wave of memories from 8th grade!
Better_Track_8627@reddit
Tried it a week ago and was very surprised by the sweetness. Looked at the ingredients and was surprised to find it's straight-up white sugar. Don't know why, but cane sugar in a seltzer is rather unappealing.
firesticks@reddit
Had no idea you guys had these in the US. These bring me back to my teens, we didn’t really drink pop but I would pick these up on as a splurge now and then.
dz1n3@reddit
Wally has Clearly American. Same great taste, none of the hosers.
Order_Flimsy@reddit
As legit as artificially flavored carbonated sugar water gets.
Beaverhuntr@reddit
Yeah I've seen them at convenience stores but honestly there are so many sparkling waters out there that are much better tasting.
lawnboy1155@reddit
Legit. I started seeing them again like 4-5 years ago.
bjaminrun@reddit
Is this Canada trying to sell more of this delicious tariff water?
CertifiedBA@reddit
This has been sold again for years now, I was buying cases back in 2019.
theworldisonfire8377@reddit
Yup, love these and I'm so glad they came back a few years ago!
NBKiller69@reddit
If you've got a Costco, pick them up there. Way cheaper than the other stores that sell them in my area at least.
Ajacob17@reddit
Yes they are awesome
Abject_Elevator5461@reddit
I had a cherry one the other day. It was delicious.
boommerz420@reddit
Been back for a few years now
burlco@reddit
Costco sells them.
NoContextCarl@reddit
Yes they are. They also have cans too.
statswoman@reddit
Yes, and they taste exactly how I remember them. So tart. My favorite soda of all time. Maybe the "too sweet" folks are remembering New York Seltzer? They were always right next to Clearly Canadian in drugstore coolers and I was always so tempted by the awesome sounding flavors. Everyone please buy Clearly Canadian so they keep making it forever.
They are also making a zero sugar Clearly Canadian now but, IMO, something is wrong with the process and it loses carbonation within a few minutes.
RumblestheDwarf@reddit
Wow, memory unlocked with the New York Seltzers. I drank those so much back in the day.
robkillian@reddit
I still see these around and they’re great for a crowd for an NA option.
FaceRidden@reddit
No
NotEvenHere4It@reddit
Yes! Safeway has been selling them as singles (as opposed to the old school 16 packs that Costco used to sell).
Sunshinehaiku@reddit
Yes, I buy the blackberry one.
BlueSteel_12@reddit
I’ll take a New York Seltzer Cola & Berry please.
euclid0472@reddit
They don't have Western Loganberry
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
Dam considering we wont be getting Canadian producrs soon…
Stang1776@reddit
We will get them. They will just be even more expensive
subsonicmonkey@reddit
No, those are counterfeit.
CDai626@reddit
Yes and I’m obsessed.
TechnicalEntry@reddit
Get ‘em before your Commander-in-Cheeto slaps on the tariffs.
ttocshtims@reddit
I've been getting mine at Sam's Club.
Few-Win8613@reddit
I have such fond memories of dinners at the Olive Garden with these from the 90s.
My wife bought a six pack a few month ago to revisit our mutual childhood core memory.
It was goddamn awful! 😂
It has an enormous amount of sugar in it as well.
Chilindrina22@reddit (OP)
Man, I grew up in a small town didn’t know what Olive Garden was until 2005 or so, that calamari though! 🤤
I use to think drinking them made me sophisticated or something, maybe next Walmart trip for curiosities sake, I’ll realize they were actually pretty crappy 😂
SunshineInDetroit@reddit
yeah. they come in cans now too at kroger
ToeKneeTea@reddit
Good but about half the sugar of a coke
Chilindrina22@reddit (OP)
Funny, I worry about sugar these days also 🙈
Daysaved@reddit
What do you think their trying to poison you or something?
Chilindrina22@reddit (OP)
no, I just remember drinking them as a kid, then they vanished. I thought I was dreaming when they appeared this evening. 😂
itwaslaura@reddit
Nothing dirtier than a counterfeit Clearly Canadian
MLDaffy@reddit
Foggy Alberta
loiterINTIMIDATE@reddit
Very...been around a long time
dexidrone@reddit
They've been the shit since the nineties at least.
Syronxc@reddit
Yes they have been back since before Covid I believe
dnewtz@reddit
Yes they're legit if you can find any strawberry ones that's the best
MrsRojoCaliente@reddit
They are legit, and they are delicious.
