Is leaving the plastic on the tempered glass ok or should i peel them?

People always say they leave it to orient the glass. But... to protect it from what? Looking like shit? It looks like shit already when you leave all the plastic on haha

I know this is literally a 2 year old post but I took mine off after keeping it on for about a month because I found out that it's not easy to scratch tempered glass. I plan to move and didn't want it to get scratched 2-3 months from now. But I'll just throw a duvet cover over it and strudel it between my arms when I'm on the move.

My one excuse for not peeling the film off is "what if I wanna sell the case eventually; the buyer would probably appreciate the film being left on it" lmao
