What role will Tulsi have as National Intelligence Director in facilitating the Trump Administration’s US takeover of Gaza and removal of its current population?

The US isn't taking over gaza and removing its population so the question is irrelevant.
Feel free to flog me if I end up wrong.

Thank you.

Considering her stance on the Gaza conflict, I see her stepping in line with what Trump wants to do there. I love Tulsi, but she’s wrong when she views the Gaza conflict as just a war against radical Islamic terorrists
serpicowasright@reddit
In a small part it is a war against radical islamist but I hope she understands cause and effect and looks towards the real issue in the region... i.e. Israel.
Illin_Spree@reddit
Imho there's no way she privately believes that. Yes, I know 90% of Congress is just as bad or worse on this. But Tulsi is different insofar as she previously represented herself as a person knowledgeable about foreign policy. Particularly regarding this region.
Some think she's playing the game and saying what she has to say to have a "positive impact" on institutions. My issue with that is ....how am I supposed to know she wouldn't mislead people on other issues if she's willing to mislead people about this? There are good reasons why philosophers and religious traditions have a dim view of lies, however well intentioned they may be.

None, because this isn't actually going to happen. It's usual Trump: open with an insane sounding demand and negotiate down to what he actually wants, which is probably for regional partners to take charge of the place and worry about deradicalizing the people there.
SeasonsGone@reddit (OP)
People keep saying it’s usual Trump but lots of things have happened in this domain.
My personal belief is that he does whatever is possible, whether or not he really wants to do it is not really a concern of his.
Pardoning Jan 6 participants, increased tariffs (although those were largely delayed many of them have gone through, particularly on China), abolishing the department of education, etc.
I guess my follow up would be, there clearly is a realm of things that actually do occur and this other realm you describe where he’s just talking and not serious about it. What’s your metric for determining where something falls?
Aurondarklord@reddit
I feel like I have a general understanding of Trump's ideology so I tend to dismiss as hyperbole claims that he'll do something that blatantly goes against what I understand him to believe in.
Trump isn't quite an isolationist, but he's skeptical of international entanglements and foreign wars, on that part he and Tulsi see eye to eye. I just can't see him committing to what would almost certainly be another boots on the ground middle eastern bloodbath boondoggle. And given his views on mass migration, would he really want to displace another 2 million Arabs?
Likewise I think he's entirely serious about taking back the Panama Canal and willing to do it by force if he has to, because he sees a critical US strategic interest in keeping it out of China's hands, fairly serious about buying Greenland if he can get them to sell it but also willing to just buy mineral exploration rights and declare victory if that's the best deal he can get, because, again, his main interest here is in competing with China, and entirely joking about annexing Canada because, obviously, they'd never agree to that and doing it by force would be unthinkable. He's just trying to get under Trudeau's skin there.
Trump will threaten a US base in Gaza to make Egypt, Jordan, UAE, etc fall in line, and then take nominal control of the strip but in practice let regional states put forth plans for rebuilding and governing it and go with whichever one he and Netanyahu like.

This is the best explanation I’ve seen on Reddit. Sadly, a large swath of the population (& media) are addicted to gnashing their teeth and going apoplectic over every statement. I think he enjoys the meltdowns and the Left gives him a boost every time they go crazy.
SeasonsGone@reddit (OP)
I feel like you somewhat contradict your self here… Trump is skeptical of international entanglements and foreign wars but willing to use military force to take back the Panama Canal (that means dead Americans and Panamanians). What is “normal control” of the Gaza Strip vs what Trump is threatening?
Tlupa@reddit
Look at these two bots have a conversation lmao
DNA98PercentChimp@reddit
Lol. Wait… am I one of your ‘bots’?
Tlupa@reddit
Ah, not a robot just autistic.
DNA98PercentChimp@reddit
Lol. Bro… I encourage you to spend some time looking in the mirror and finding a way to love yourself.
Might help you avoiding melting down into attempts at cheap insults like a little snowflake.
Tlupa@reddit
Is that any different than pontificating on how to be a good person via Reddit? Lol I made a joke at your expense, you don’t have to attack my character over it
DNA98PercentChimp@reddit
Are you calling autistic people ‘a joke’?
RileyFoxtrot@reddit
Look at the stupid non autistic guy think he has a grasp on any concept XD
SeasonsGone@reddit (OP)
I wish I was lol. It’s ok if we disagree, but why do I have to be a bot?
Tlupa@reddit
And you responded in a minute lol. Bad bot
SeasonsGone@reddit (OP)
4 mins according to the timestamp, which is exactly the same amount you replied in lmao. Also I’m on my phone right now just like anyone else

She’s on the side of whatever helps her toward launching a presidential run.
beavis617@reddit
I’m sure she shares his vision and will make a down payment on a residence in the mid East Riviera as soon as the Trump Kushner real estate enterprise kicks off…
watching_whatever@reddit
First off, through Trump’s serious threats and actions, the hostages have been/are being released and the Gaza population has/is returned to their destroyed homes. This major war has now stopped is my guess.
Hopefully many nations will now contribute to rebuilding Gaza when Trump hits them up for funds. Tulsi hopefully does well while learning everything possible from Trump and then continues on to become the first Woman President of US.
DNA98PercentChimp@reddit
Whatever her handlers ask of her 🤷♂️
SeasonsGone@reddit (OP)
Yeah—I just feel like the reality of being a cabinet secretary is that you’re not independent at all, you’re fully integrated into fulfilling the objectives of the administration you serve. She knows that…
National Intelligence is going to be majorly implicated when the administration is formulating Gaza policy, proposals and communication about our newfound interest in Greenland and Panama, etc.
Expecting her to actually be someone who pushes back against thing she’s claimed to disagree with in the past is not totally unreasonable, but I can’t think of any Trump official who has been allowed to keep their job after doing so.
