Who else still thinks about finding random DJs wherever you went?

Was listening to the radio today and the most random song came on and it just sounded like some random DJ in a store or restaurant. Seemed like they were everywhere at some point. Even department stores had DJs. I just remember I almost never recognized the songs they mixed. It would always be some Nuevo techno mix of back tracks no one ever heard of.
