Man, I purchased one two days ago and returned it 12 hours later. I got a really solid deal on a lease. After updating the module, I got it on the road and started getting a warning that the right turn signal was out. I took it back in the morning, thinking it was just a simple bulb replacement. After hours of waiting, it turned out the car needed a whole assembly.
I was like, "OK, how long will that take?" I was told they’d have to order the part—and it was on backorder with no estimated delivery date. My anxiety shot up, especially after reading all the reviews beforehand.
I went in to talk it over, and while reviewing the specs online, I realized the one I bought only had 500hp—I didn’t even get the model I really wanted. Lol. I asked them to take it back, and to their credit, the dealer did right by me.
Maybe I dodged one. 🤔
This new model will be an epic sales flop.
You don’t wish for that for any company but Jeep needs a harsh correction since they seem intent on throwing their brand and their customers out the window.
Silly people who think they can't afford the last 5 grand but totally will get a big raise next year and can buy it then and it'll be like a totally new vehicle.
Are you saying the vehicle or paywall ? If you say the vehicle, probably for old people or moms.
Anyway, no body buys crossover for road track, I don’t think most would pay that speed increase.
I think the Wagoneer S looks great, but alas it is still a Jeep product from Stellantis North America, and that almost makes it as appealing to purchase as a JLR product:
Lease only if you like, run like hell once warranty is done.
All cars depreciate, with Swastika cars depreciating the most. I agree that anyone buying an EV should only do so if planning on longterm, otherwise leasing is the way to go.
Which is the made up with the lack of repairs... Well probably not on that Jeep piece of crap, but on every other EV.
Thoss out of warranty repairs, oil changes, and other maintenence items add up. Especially if you buy anything that isn't Toyota or Honda.
A battery replacement mechanically totals cars that are only 4-5 years old. I can replace the entire drive drain on my 80’s jeep for less than a battery on just about any electric or hybrid vehicle.
You realize that the vast majority of people buying cars are buying... USED cars, and that it's critical that the vehicle doesn't mechanically total itself after the warranty is up? there are quite a few ICE cars that do that, but most do not until they are well past 20 years old, or older.
Batteries are the main issue, and I think that a lot of people would be more inclined with EV's if they had a much higher range, were not affected by weather as much and that the batteries were not the equivalent of buying a whole new vehicle after 10 years.
And again, the battery warranty lasts so long, if you become paranoid about it you have literally 150-200k miles to intentionally nuke it. At 180k miles on a modern car you are looking at engine and transmission overhauls. Those are putting you up there too. Stop fear mongering for issues that do not exist for normal people.
You're literally delusional. I just now realized you said "swastika" cars, so you're just an idiot with no grasp on reality. So this conversation is done.
It can be almost free though, for those lucky enough.
My last 1000 miles cost me just over $2 to charge, thanks to a mix of solar and cheap utility rates.
Same 1000 miles would have cost about $130 in my previous vehicle at the average fuel cost here.
> 25 Grand Cherokee gets 26mpg combined, over 200,000 miles at $3 gallon, that's $23,000 US.
Very few people buying anything will keep it for 200,000 miles.
The 600hp one does 0-60 in *3.4 seconds*. Seriously, you americans have insane ideas on what "slow" even is, anything under 10 seconds for 0-60 is more than enough.
I could easily get up to highway speeds back in the day with my 2003 120hp Nissan Sentra. What the hell are you talking about? Sure more HP is fun, but there isn't a real argument than anyone NEEDS 500hp to get from point a to point b.
Where the fuck did I say you need 500 hp? A 7 second car is right around 200 hp. A Sentra in 2003 was pretty average but if I'm buying new today I'm not getting a 9.5 second car. Fuck having a personal preference I guess.

Most cars currently driving in the US have 0-60 times over 7 seconds, closer to 10 seconds. 0-60 of under 7 seconds was the realm of "sporty" cars until the last couple decades. We have a 2005 CR-V, takes 9.5 seconds per the specs. When I've driven it it's plenty peppy enough to get on the freeway and up to speed. A 2015 Camry (base engine, very common car, MANY still around) needs almost 8 seconds flat out. Under 7 is not "sufficient", it's damn quick for a regular car.
My turbocharged Legacy GT takes over 6 seconds. I think freeway onramps give much more time to accelerate than you're thinking.
Until you realize you had to brake at the end of the on ramp for whatever reason and can't get back up to freeway speed with a semi coming up fast. Sure, cars are sold that are slower but, for me, 7 seconds and under is sufficient. Excess power is a legitimate safety feature when used right. Do you live in Minnesota and deal with on/off ramp combos on a regular basis?
The problem is you can always encounter/create a situation where you need even more power/acceleration. The problem your describing is caused by needing to stop on the onramp, not the lack of power. And the semi is coming up fast might be because he's not driving for the situation. However, I agree that having power to get out of a situation can be a safety feature. But again, there's no way to be prepared for every situation. There will always be a time where more acceleration would help, or more braking, or more visibility.
We have some gnarly on/off-ramp situations here in Washington State, but the problem is the people not driving for the conditions/situation.
Tesla does this with the Y LR. This is not new and as more EV's become main stream, this will be more prevalent. Mainstream buyers want that connectivity, well, welcome to the dystopian world of everything being software controlled and behind paywalls. Next steps will be more subscription based features and on demand pay as you go features masqueraded as potential cost savings.
I have great expectations for an entirely new EV coming from a brand that has such great build quality and reliability for the models they've been making for years.

Question #1: Who *wouldn't* save $5K to get your Jeep crossover with *only* 500 horsepower?
Question #2: Just in case every single buyer selects the cheaper option... How is it saving money for Jeep?
I know Tesla uses this business model at times, but I understand it much more when it comes to range. Range is extremely worth paying for. If you think it's important to have 600 horsepower rather than 500... I assume you're not buying an uncalibrated POS Jeep to begin with!
Tesla and Ford blatantly do it as a warranty thing. Especially Ford, because it's pretty much a guarenteed HVBJB replacement in the future. So to cover their ass they lock 100lbft of torque behind a pay wall.
Further proof of that theory? Fords HVBJB isn't failing at much now as they reduced it to only $1000.
Still overpriced. I wouldn’t pay more than 45k sorry
It’s reality. Too much luxury look but not enough quality so I know there’s issues ahead. Specially this being the first fully EV they release.
Reminds me to the Prologue. I was in love with, even with the boring interior design I like, but after all the complains from customers I erased it from my list.
>The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Limited is quite literally limited to the lower output of 500 hp — that is unless you want to drop an as-yet undisclosed figure to unlock all 600 hp via an “Over The Air” upgrade named the Propulsion Boost Package.
