Drivers from usb not showing up in windows setup screen

Building a new pc. At the point in the windows installation process where in order to move forward you have to connect to internet.
The onboard wifi isn’t showing up as an option so I assume it’s a drivers thing. I installed the drivers to a usb from a laptop and all of the .exe files show up in that view. However when I plug it into the new pc nothing shows up. I can see the folders where the driver should be but it’s empty. I’ve tried multiple usb slots and don’t know what’s going on.

Shift+F10, select the dialogue box, then type oobe\bypassnro and hit enter
Machine reboots, now you can select "I have no internet" and continue on with a local account if you so please. This will get you to the desktop where installing drivers from USB is much easier, you just run the exe

Trying now. I’m assuming after that I just get all of the updates through the normal updater once I get internet?
Protocol49@reddit
Absolutely.

The folder are unzipped, regular folders right?
What happens when you just put all the files in the root directory with no folders?
Loki433@reddit (OP)
Yep unzipped. Also I’ve tried just putting them in the usb root. Nothing, the .exe files just don’t show up during the setup. But when I plug the usb back into the laptop they’re there
VersaceUpholstery@reddit
Are the laptop and new PC the same windows? (10,11,etc)
Loki433@reddit (OP)
Yep

ever find a fix?
tybuzz@reddit
You may have to get the actual driver files and not the installation .exe. What exact motherboard do you have?
You could bypass the network connection step, and then once windows is up and running, run the .exe files. https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-11-set-up-without-internet-connection/
You could temporarily move your computer closer to the router and connect it with a network cable.

I’ve got gigabyte B850i Aorus pro ice. Tried this and everything else I can find but the startup just won’t recognize the driver on my usb drive
tybuzz@reddit
Can you temporarily connect with an ethernet cable to get through windows setup and then run the driver exe install after?
Loki433@reddit (OP)
Gigabyte b650 Aorus elite ax rev 1.2
tybuzz@reddit
You'll likely have to do the network connection step bypass method I linked to above if you can't at least temporarily connect using a network cable.

Did you ever get this fixed? Having the exact same problem at the moment and not quite sure what to do
Loki433@reddit (OP)
Don’t remember completely but there’s a command you can google that basically lets you just bypass that screen during install. Bypassed then installed drivers via usb and then it was smooth sailing
