Keteles K800 Dual Motor

Does anyone here have one of these? How's the experience? Bukd quality and reliability?
I have a 10 minute drive to work from my house, but there is a hiking trail that goes behind my house that is rough loose gravel for about 2km then about 5km of sealed road with a very steep incline at the end. Like, my car can spin the front wheels going up the hill on the way home, steep.
I figure fat tire is good for the loose gravel and dual motor is good for the killer hill. This bike seems like it would be a good fit for me, maybe?

It goes 62mph!???

I just got one of these gifted to me from family. Beautiful looking bike but I have one problem. There is absolutely no info or manual on how the LCD screen actually works, or how to navigate and use it. All it says in the assembly booklet is to turn it on you press the plus an minus buttons together at the same time for 3 seconds. But once it's on I have no idea how to use it, or adjust settings. Does anyone know where I can find info on how to use it?

To turn it on just hold the menu button
To go into the settings, hold up and down for a few seconds, then use M button to go through the settings and up and down to adjust.
It's a great bike, I've had mine a few months now

Any issues with it at all? Any pros and cons?
My Carerra Vengeance E is having a new fault/break every single week, and my Schiano Braver is a great bike but you can feel the cheap build quality (when it arrived, half the front spokes were bent and 5 were missing the nipples, the front suspension locked up after the first week in muddy weather and its constantly creaking with loads of break issues) but that's what you get for a £700 amazon bike.
I've seen this Keteles for £1200 and really want to make the purchase but only has 1 review

Brakes are good, bike has a bunch of power, battery is good. The bike is easy to tinker with.
Cons are that is really stands out due to external wiring, batteries, etc. I put a suspension seat post and changed the seat and put an extension to raise the bars a bit to make it more comfortable.
The forks are fine for road and light off road, but not much else.

Thx for the info my dude, I did a little research into the bike and decided against it. I've gone for the Lankeleisi mg740, which is a dual 1000w. It's a very similar style at a pretty similar price point but 2000w of power is too good to turn down😅
It also doesn't have the exposed controller at the bottom, which was my biggest turn off due to living in wet and muddy England🤭
GetOffMy3Inches@reddit
What site did you use I tried to get this bike but was scammers had to get a refund. I used lankeleisi.com

The dual motor K800 is 2kW
The bottom controller is in a fully sealed box. Just beware that controllers for 1kW motors need to shed a lot of heat. The location and cooling aspect is important, otherwise you will get thermal throttling, limiting your output power.

I've recently started having issues with my battery after about 2 and 1/2 years. It gets to 3 bars out of 5 and it's a complete crapshoot. I can go 10 miles or 0 miles until it's dead...Hopefully yours is still doing well.
Numerous_Payment574@reddit
The battery will need balancing Each cell is operating inefficiently after 2 plus years and many charges
Its a matter of finding someone who can balance the cells or purchasing a balancer

I don't like to see controllers mounted in that location; exposed to rain, rocks, roots and what not. But the dual motor / fat tire bike is good for the conditions you listed (and just about all other ones as well:) I would keep looking...
A front wheel kit is relatively easy to add to any rear wheel drive ebike. It would increase your chances of finding a good bike and give you the satisfaction of creating a unique, one-of-a-kind AWD. This is the path I took on my dual motor bike and if you want to go that direction I could help you get started in the right direction:)

That's a good point about the speed controller location. Probably worth noting that this would never be ridden in the wet. Where I live is 340 days of sunshine a year. I'm glad I'm getting on the right path as far as specs, for my use case.
Honestly, I'd prefer an off the shelf, charge it and ride it, solution.
RadroverUpgrade@reddit
Understand. Can you give me the approximate location where the sun shines 340 days a year. I have a solar rig and it sounds like paradise:)
theantnest@reddit (OP)
Yeah I'm also fully on solar at home!
I live on a very small Spanish island called Ibiza in the Mediterranean.
My job is technical and at the moment I don't feel like tinkering with a bike when I get home. Like the Michelin star chef's that make Mac and cheese when they get home hahahaha

Подскажите, как включить на Keteles K800 PAS на оба колеса?
FangLiengod@reddit
I do have one of these and it would absolutely be great for that
Neat_Rip3472@reddit
how do I make this bike? Go faster it's stuck on like 12 miles an hour.?
Affectionate_Cry1381@reddit
any bony have issues with k-800 duel motor bike Bought mine in November and still haven't been able to ride it ..Battery issues
Affectionate_Cry1381@reddit
I have this bike and I can't get the thing to work, I thought it was the battery or charger ,it would show fully charged but as soon as I accelerated the battery would die..Then recharged and it did the same thing. So I got a new battery and charger from HK keteles and still nothing and now the horn and display dont work???????? Do I need to do something to wake up this battery? It puts out a reading of 4;5volts I used the old battery again and the horn worked the display lights but as soon as I try the motors it dies immediately. I'm afraid I made a bad purchase it was very hard to get another battery from HK Keteles

DO NOT BUY! I bought 2x of these K800 bikes, unfortunately the seller refused to supply a warranty that was promised with the bikes and I discovered a fault within two days of receiving and constructing the bikes. I contacted the seller immediately and the seller promised to solve the problem but it was a trick to delay my report to AliExpress. AliExpress were dreadful to deal with and had a useless customer service. They suggested I send the bike to China with no insurance or guarantee of refund and it would cost more than the bikes! Eve the manufacturer in china refused to help or honour the warranty. In the end I got a refund after 18 months by using the EU consumer help organisation. Do more research and buy a better make.
theantnest@reddit (OP)
I have over 5000 miles on mine. I smashed the screen and they sent me a new one for free.
Which seller did you buy from?
FreedomLow4490@reddit
AliExpress but normally the warranty is issued by the manufacturer. We are granted a two year warranty in the EU automatically. The manufacturer didn't want to honour the warranty.
However by perusing a consumer claim against AliExpress and the seller, we had a new development late last year 2024. AliExpress refunded me for the whole cost of one bike. Ultimately Keteles lost out as I got to keep the damaged bike and I will repair it at my own expense this year.
theantnest@reddit (OP)
Who did you claim against?
Was it NBpower? Because that's who actually makes them.
FreedomLow4490@reddit
No not NB Power. When you purchase through a marketplace like AliExpress surprisingly the marketplaces are protected and will often just blame everything on the seller within their marketplace. However, they have a duty of care and don't want to spoil international relations with other countries especially in the EU.
So even though it should have been against the seller of the bike, (LAFLY Spain e-bike store), It became an issue with Aliexpress themselves because the seller had closed shop and removed themselves from all responsibility. (Or so they thought).
I am pretty sure that AliExpress would have claimed from this seller in some capacity.
So just to be clear, it was Aliexpress that paid the refund.

Anyone in the UK ordered this bike from amazon? Seeing reviews on amazon has made me sceptical of getting this, however it's cheaper than getting off the website by like £100
Any info would be appreciated.
theantnest@reddit (OP)
I bought mine from France and had it shipped here to Spain. Now that you're out of the EU, that option is not there for you anymore.
The bike is great, I'm super happy with it. I've got 2000 miles on it now and it's going strong.
Heyheyhev89@reddit
Did you have to register the bike with the DVLA?
