LPIC 1 and other certifications. Recommended books and resources?

I been diving more into Linux and have started going to the library to find some books on Linux, like Linux for Dummies 8 in 1 book. I looked into the Linux Prof Institute, the Linux foundation, Comptia Linux+, and Red Hat certifications as well as cyber security stuff, like Comptia Security+.
It seems, to me at least, that LPIC certifications would be the way to go. There are levels and at the 3rd level, I can go the cyber security route. My library does not have many resources for Linux books so I need to go out and by them.
Can someone recommend to me books that I should purchase that will help me get my LPIC certifications (and others)? It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, are there any free classes or trainings that I can look into that will help me get prepare for the certification exams?

There's this YouTube channel called DailyDebian, he has really good free practice questions that helped me pass LPIC 1!

LPI has extensive guides freely available for their exams. I've never taken one of theirs so I can't speak to how closely it aligns to the questions. I believe the Red Hat certs are regarded as the most valuable.

Yes, I downloaded the LPIC 1 study guides from the LPI site. I'm trying to get the basis down from the book i mentioned from my post and practice using CLI. I thought about Red Hat certs as well, but it's more of a niche from my understanding. i'm trying to get a cert that is a bit more global.

I guess it really depends on what you're after. RHCSA pulls the most weight on a resume because it's considered the hardest at that level (real labs in the exam) and a lot of big orgs use Red Hat. Once you get past the package manager / distro philosophy there aren't going to be that many practical differences. If you're just after cheap general knowledge then you can follow the LPIC guides, read man pages to death, and practice in labs in VMs and you'll be fine.

Thank you and I heard Red Hat is much harder cause the exams are based on real world situation you gotta solve unlike multiple choice. I guess for me I just need a starting point for now and build my overall knowledge about Linux first and other related matters. I been practicing on my laptop. It's been switched over to Linux mint for now.

I started with LPI Linux essentials, then moved into LPIC-1. All of their free material I still use as a reference to come back to. Those two certs have taught me so much in navigating the Linux command line. It's also a great stepping stone to something like RHCSA as there's a lot of overlap.
There is one lesson in LPIC-1 Exam 101 lesson 103.5 pt 2 that has to do with using GNU screen. That one was kind of useless since it's uncommon to interface with servers that way. This was tech that came before applications like Putty and SSH.

Not sure if it still works this way, but when I took the CompTIA Linux cert, it gave me a crossover cert from LPIC.

I looked into this. Apparently, passing the linux+ no longer gives you a LPIC 1 as well because LPIC 1 is now two exams and more intense from my understanding.
