Because I know so little about this committee, I am seeking responses from the community

This accident was going to happen regardless. The people on this committee were not in the control tower. They were not on the flight deck of these aircraft. They are not the ones who published the standard routes for helicopters. They were not the ones assigning clearances. The practices that I've been going on at this airport have been going on for decades.

You’re a breath of fresh air today mate. So much nonsense surrounding this accident, thanks for keeping it grounded in reality. This isn’t political, and is just a series of unfortunate events.

People blaming the recent staffing changes are being silly but this is not just a series of unfortunate events. You're even agreeing with someone making that point, that it was a long time coming and a long time ignored. When the consequences of a long term of bad safety decisions come home to roost, you bring that to the current leaders. They clearly don't have even the mindset, let alone effective policy, to fix it but I guess that's getting political.

Tell that to the guy in office with the red tie blaming it on ATC, who is supposedly a “DEI hire”. Not sure when he became an aviation expert but what he just said to that press conference was truly disgusting in a time of mourning

My colleagues and I all watched that and were fuming. The guy has no idea what he was talking about. I think the worst part is that the general public will take what he said and believe it since they don’t know any better.

I agree. Although I’d say it wasn’t political until someone decided to have a press conference…

100% There's a clear cause of this accident we've all seen the video and heard the ATC recordings its pilot error. Are there contributing factors sure it was dark the black hawk is black, TCAS is imperfect, and that flight corridor is both busy and poorly thought out, but thats not an admin thing a collective set of things had to go bad in those moments for it to happen.

Safe to say I’m personally going to avoid flights in America for a while.

I meant "security." Been reading too many safety articles

I'm getting really tired of people calling it a safety committee. It was really a SECURITY not safety committee. Even if this committee was relevant, the timeframe between them being fired and the accident is too short to be impactful.

Unlikely that this had any effect on the accident itself, but will have an effect on the response to the accident in terms of policies introduced by current administration. I expect a knee jerk reaction by the current administration intended to push an agenda in response to this accident

Aviation **Security** Advisory Committee. Safety and security are not interchangeable terms and have vastly different meanings. While security ultimately leads to safety, by minimizing threats from bad actors, aviation safety in general is composed of far more elements than just security.

This is old news. The article was dated January 22. It has nothing to do with the crash.
