Really? Make sense I suppose. I’m maybe showing my age then… :) in my day, we drank like child-sailors so long as we showed the barkeep some type of ID so if the police came to do a check, the bar wouldn’t get into any trouble.

The bouncer is not going to go to the effort of going to the police station and even if they did, the police aren’t going to do anything about it and would probably just bin it. The police are overstretched and don’t investigate many shopliftings so they’re not going to care about a fake id

Bouncers do not interact with the police unless they have to. They are certainly not going to take time after a shift, to march down to the local copshop with a fake id. no one gives a damn. They may throw it in a draw (if there is any chance it is real) , or they may destroy it, if it's 100% obviously a fake. but that's the end of it

If, in the rare moment, the police have time to tackle something this minor, it will be a telling off. It is illegal under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 and can carry up to a 5k fine and between 2.5 and 10 years in prison. The police are raising awareness as people don't realise it is illegal. If it's a really good forgery, they may pay more attention, but more likely want to know where you got it rather than pursue you.

You’ll most likely just get a verbal warning if even that. It’s so common I’ve never heard of anyone facing legal charges for having a fake ID with the intention of going to a pub.

Hmmmm what’s sort of ‘fake ID’ was this where’d you get it from. The fact it was sent to your actual address and they wouldn’t let you put a dummy address on it and the real one for shipping kinda suggests it was a real ID but with fake info, if it was this you might be in some bother. If it was a genuine ‘joke ID’ then you’ve nothing to worry about

Most likely, no. I suspect that the bouncer will just chuck it away. But if he does pass it to the Police, they might get a bit stroppy if it’s a government issued document. This may come as unwelcome news. But this is from experience of someone I know. BTP. stopped him with an old passport that he had doctored to get in Glastonbury. They went for him using anti terrorist legislation. That got very serious for him very quickly. They eventually let him off with a formal warning. But if they had charged him it’s straight to the high court.
