That cash register is the reason I don’t like Chihuahuas! I went on playdate and they had that cash register. I was SO excited … only to find that their Chihuahua had peed in the drawer. It was like a dream where you went to grab the thing you wanted and woke up just before it was in your hand. Except I did touch it and it was covered in smelly dog pee. Since then, every time I see a picture of that cash register, I think of Chihuahua pee and get mad at that little shaky dog all over again.
I was at a church rummage sale with my auntie when I was little and she bought this exact one for me. Get home, start playing with it, out pops the drawer and it's stuffed with really money. It was all $20s and it wouldn't surprise me if it was $200 (in my little kid mind, it was millions and I was set for life.
My auntie, being a church goer dragged me and that little register back to the church and I had to hand over all the money to the people running it. I was pretty bummed but the lady running it gave me a free chocolate chip cookie so that was cool
This same one is in the nursery at my church, which congregation formed in 1955. That entire nursery is a time capsule! Nothing unsafe, but taking care of the kiddos in there is so comforting and nostalgic since it looks exactly like the one in the church I grew up attending, with all the same toys. Even the fabric prints are the same style, which I love.

I remember using it not sure it was mine :)

Same think there was one in the nursery school I attended

I think mine came from a garage sale, like most of my toys.

I trained on one for months as a toddler, and eventually in high school got my chance at a cashier position. It was like riding a bike!

Yup, and I have the scar to prove it.

Wow. I had one, and I'm from a small country in Europe, which at the time was behind the curtain. No idea who brought it from abroad.

Wasn't the Fisher Price Cash Register and Medical Kit standard issue for all kids in the 70s?
