Should I buy this car?

For context we bought a 2022 Tiguan SE for 32k and put 10k from our trade in . Our car payment is 380 with a 4.30 interest rate for 72 months, it has 42,000 miles and we have 4 years of payments left. Our issue is our Tiguan had a faulty battery and has been dying multiple times every time we drive it, plus it’s missing blind spot detection and lift gate form chip shortage and it has a big dent on passenger side doors and plastic missing from when a hog hit us, if we keep the Tiguan we will have to get it fixed and it will raise our insurance rates, and it has a crack in the windshield, with a few scratches and dings throughout.
I recently found a 2023 atlas SE for $26,900 it has 29,000 miles and 74,000 mile warranty Tiguan warranty expires in 7000 miles). I negotiated them down to $23,900 and they are giving us a trade in of $18,500 for the Tiguan, out the door price and what we would finance would be $22,950. We owe $16,000 on the Tiguan. Is this worth it, I really don’t like the Tiguan. Just to add the atlas is a 2.99 interest rate for 60 months.

Have they seen the Tiguan? That is about $6-7k more than I would expect for trade on that. It seems like a decent deal if they are actually giving you that much for the Tiguan.

They actually hadn’t seen it, and it’s in pretty rough shape we got them to give us that price unseen and when we brought it in they tried to back out but ended up keeping their word

If you're positive equity because of their stupid trade value, and the interest is lower , you'd be an absolute Buffoon not to take the new deal.

My parents buy new cars like every year and thinks it’s horrible deal so I’m confused lol

What is horrible about it? You're positive equity in the car you hate, and your interest rate is very very low for a car you like. They're being stupid, and they're not the ones buying a car.

Honestly I am astonished. This may be your only chance to get rid of it easily unless you drive it into the ground until it's a $2,000 car.

I agree but my parents think it’s a horrible deal so I’m not sure
