My transmission started to fail so I bought an aftermarket warranty. Will I be covered?

Really got screwed here. Financed a 2020 Fusion Se from carvana. Withing a month or 2, I noticed the transmission started to slip. 65k miles, and I financed this thing... Took it to firestone and found out it have a leak and was running low on fluid. Only thing carvanas 100 day warranty would approve is patching the leak, which of course, wouldn't help an already slipping transmission much. By the time it started to slip again, I was out of warranty. It's been a few months now, and it's driveable, but slips on about every gear fairly consistently. I just got an aftermarket warranty through endurance. I got a pretty low risk assessment so I went with the most premium package they offer. I mean bumper to bumper, comprehensive coverage. I have to wait 30 days and 1000 miles before I can report anything of course. But if I report this transmission after that, how likely is this to be caught as a preexisting condition?

I’ve seen so many videos of newer fords not lasting over 100k before something major. So it seems right on par.

The fact that the issue is likely on record may be an issue, as it would be preexisitng. Hope it works out.

Not with Obamacare
Shy1_one@reddit
Obamacare is health insurance and has no implicatgions for this applicaion. Most insurance contracts exclude issues that are already know.
1manbandman@reddit
It was a joke.
Shy1_one@reddit
Yeah I know but on these pages jokes are often taken as truths. Actually that was one of the best parts of the the program, not being able to exclude persons or surcharge them.
congteddymix@reddit
I guess I would try, but endurance is probably a scam, you would be better off just taking that money and spending it the repair. Or just ditching the car and getting something different.
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
What evidence are you basing this claim on?
congteddymix@reddit
Most 3rd party warranties basically take your money and never pay out through various excuses and claim denials. It’s not even a warranty it’s a service contract that should tell you how much of a scam these are. All you need to do is do a quick google search to see all the ways these are a scam.
chost120@reddit
Endurance constantly harasses me. They’ve sent me 3 things in the mail 3 months in a row after I said to stop. So they could burn for all I care.
domesticatedwolf420@reddit
But what's the scam?
chost120@reddit
They very rarely if ever payout to fix any repairs. As others have said. All the 3rd party “warranties” that dealers sell get kick back for selling them, hence why they include them or try to sell them to people.
Agitated_Ad6162@reddit
Did u bother to read the warranty cause it sounds like u did not read the warranty you bought.
Do you usually just buy shit without knowing what you are getting?
jimmyn0thumbs@reddit
Yes, OP already told you that they bought a Ford Fusion from Carvana.
Mike__O@reddit
I hate to tell you, but you almost certainly wasted your money. Those aftermarket "warranties" (really just insurance by another name) are one baby step above an outright scam. They'll do whatever they can to try to avoid paying. Maybe you can get them to cover it, but I'd be willing to bet they're going to deny you and you're going to be on the hook for the repair.
ProJoe@reddit
There are ones out there that work. I ran a transmission shop years ago and most would deny your claim but there were more than a handful that were covered. Many times they would only cover the individual failed parts, for example only the plates and disc's on the failed gear instead of replacing all of them (which is standard when you have to open a transmission up).
But they're not all total scams.
With that being said I've never and would never buy one lol
Auxillis@reddit
Nobody rebuilds transmissions anymore. Hell nobody hardly wants to be a tech anymore. Auto techs are a dying breed.
ProJoe@reddit
I mean they literally do. But OK.
Auxillis@reddit
Oh I know mom and pop shops do, but dealerships don’t. All the old guys are retiring and dying, and the really young guys want to do tik tok and play video games for a living.
ruddy3499@reddit
Chrysler warranty repairs transmissions if it’s less than 70% of a rebuilt
ProJoe@reddit
Nowhere in my post did I talk about dealerships.
Repair shops still exist.
Auxillis@reddit
Say less grandpa
ProJoe@reddit
Brother I'm probably 10 years older than you.
Understand that your experience isn't everyones.
Auxillis@reddit
Yeah you’ve obviously been off your tools for too long because I’ve done this exact repair a few times because it’s a common issue on this particular vehicle. It isn’t cost effective to tear down and repair this transmission. It would cost more in labor than a reman. But I’m sure you knew that since you ran a shop.
ProJoe@reddit
Not at all what I was talking about
that's what YOUR shop says
that depends on the vehicle/transmission and amount of damage.
do you know what a banner kit actually costs?
do you know what a banner kit even is?
sit this one out man.
Auxillis@reddit
The fact that you call a re-seal kit a banner kit tells me you’ve never looked at a repair manual in your life. And now you’re suggesting to just throw parts at it until it’s fixed. That kit wouldn’t even repair what OP needs player.
ProJoe@reddit
This is a banner kit for a 4L60E. do you see more than seals in there?
fuck off dude. you have zero idea what you're talking about.

Are we not able to add pictures to posts? Seems really dumb if so because that'd help 100 times more
m1kedavinci@reddit (OP)
Not sure what I could post a picture of in this matter that would help lol
Then-Taro-1175@reddit
If you get the leak fixed, try adding in a few tubes of lubegaurd red "instant shudder fix" that shit got rid of my transmission shudders and made my 97 accord automatic shift like butter.
m1kedavinci@reddit (OP)
I'll look into that. Thanks for the tip. Not sure how I feel about tranny x-rays on my phone though lol
parbruhwalters@reddit
So they're going to deny your warranty. You need to go back and read the terms again. You need to have the warranty active for a certain amount of time and have driven at least a certain amount if miles plus have to prove a ling history of active service to the car with records and receipts.
Then-Taro-1175@reddit
But now that I read it, you could get an X ray of your tranny done and screenshot that ig 🤣
Then-Taro-1175@reddit
My bad, I didn't even read this post. I was just trying to make my own post, realized i can't even add pictures, and clicked the first thread I saw to ask if it was possible lmao
sikon024@reddit
A leak would make it slip. You might be ok with the patch and refill.
rampas_inhumanas@reddit
You are almost definitely screwed. They don't make money by paying out claims from people who bought a warranty for some shit that's already broken. They will definitely deny your claim.
