Depends on your monitor, mostly. I would firstly check if my current setup runs them fine. If that's the case, there's no need to upgrade anything. If not, I would check the usage of both my CPU and GPU with something like MSI Afterburner's Riva tuner app in game. After that, I would look for an upgrade of the part that bottlenecs the system (the one with the 100% usage) . In your case it would most likely be your CPU, or your GPU depending on : resolution, desired framerate, and game being played. After all that, you could pick a suitable part. I would personally stick to the am4 platform, as it's the cheapest solution. Notable better CPU-s include the 5700x, 5900x and all x3d variants. You should avoid the G versions if possible. Notable that for cpus with high TDP, you should also check you power supply if it has enough power to give (your entire system!). For GPU upgrades, anything with a 20% or more performance uplift is worthwile, check tom's hardware's gpu performance charts for reference. As I said, depends on resolution and titles being played.
