PC lost in CA fires want to replace
Posted by HunterFIENDS@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 7 comments
Hello all, sorry if this isn't the right place. I recently lost my house/PC in the LA Eaton Canyon fires. I want to get a replacement and don't really want to build it myself for a few different reasons.
I was looking around for a smaller sized case system almost like Starforged "Lowkey" system. I did reach out to them as well and they basically said it was limited edition and wouldn't help me.
I want the smaller size because I anticipate having to move several times over the next few months/year. Not sure how practical that is or limiting on specs?
Does this sub have any recommendations on sites that might have smaller builds? Or maybe some of the pitfalls of a smaller build? I.e is it even worth it?

Fragbox from Falcon NW is portable but a bit pricey

Hope all is well.

The one pitfall I can see is that gpu’s are getting bigger and heavier.
I recently purchased the 7600x bundle at microcenter for $300 and the mobo seems like it would fit a small case, just adding that in if you’re looking to build and are close to a microcenter

Go watch sff builds, people are pairing 4090's with itx motherboards and fitting them into cases that are small enough to be portable. It's pretty crazy!

small form factor builds are fine. you won’t get the same performance of a regular sized one simply due to heat/ cooling limitations but ik how you feel
i have a full size lian li case and moving from college to home for winter break for example and lugging around a 50lb box up and down stairs and to my truck blows so ik how that will feel
