If you feel miserable, maybe you have a problem with alcohol. Cutting out booze for a few weeks shouldnt make you feel negative.
Cold_Football_9425@reddit
It does if you do it for January, already the most depressing month of the year đ
Thread-Hunter@reddit
Why is January depressing? Its supposed to be the best month. The month where you set out life goals and work towards it.
Mobile_Delivery1265@reddit
Ignore haters, most people are miserable in their lives any time of year and want to spread that to others. Keep your positive attitude up!
Thread-Hunter@reddit
Lol I agree, oh well. I quite like january, its a period of reflection and contemplation.
Harrry-Otter@reddit
Itâs cold, dark and nothing happens.
Thread-Hunter@reddit
Maybe you need to some hobbies ... lol.
Harrry-Otter@reddit
I have hobbies. Theyâre less enjoyable when itâs cold, dark and wet.
Cold_Football_9425@reddit
Yeah it's great to set and pursue goals in January but that's not enough to compensate for still being in the depths of winter, with no Christmas holidays to take the edge off the gloom.
sleepyprojectionist@reddit
I donât drink very often, so it wouldnât really be much different from the rest of the time.
I am however trying to abstain from sugar and simple carbs in general.
It is easy for me not to drink, but the sugar and carb cravings are on a whole different level.
Due_Figure6451@reddit
When you drink 2 glasses of wine a month, Iâm not sure you even qualify for a dry January? Itâs only just past the middle of the month.
Itâs like me saying Iâm doing âno sex Januaryâ when I never get laid anyway.
Ill_Preference_3813@reddit (OP)
I drank heavily over Christmas so thought it was be a good reset, plus just wanted to prove to myself I can actually stick to something
Kapika96@reddit
I don't do tiktok crap.

Ill_Preference_3813@reddit (OP)
Just to add, I rarely drink. Maybe a glass of wine every 2 weeks. I just have autism and at social functions a glass of wine helps me unmask, so having to do social gatherings sober is extremely hard

Mirroring the floods
verybadgay@reddit
I forgot I was doing it and had a pint last week. Aside from that, grand.
mrhippoj@reddit
Dry January? My current state is đĽ´
lxgrf@reddit
The harder you find it, the more important it is.
CharringtonCross@reddit
Yes, good. They have a run up to Christmas and New year was heavy and relentless. From as far back as April.
hiking_n_stuff@reddit

It isn't Fuck that bullshit
yellowsubmarine45@reddit
If I found myself miserable because I hadn't had a drink in 17 days, then I would know I had a problem.
TheGreatReset31@reddit
Fine. Loving it. Felt naturally like my drinking career should wind down a bit before Christmas so this January has been pretty easy.
Sleep is better, saved some cash, feel a bit âlighterâ and more connected. No qualms at all.
BrokenHati@reddit
Drenched đ
LordBrixton@reddit
Every time I've taken a break from booze I've definitely felt betterâŚinterestingly, my hearing in particular sharpens right upâŚbut I love the taste of mid-priced red wine too much to stop for long.
Pyriel@reddit
Well, didn't try it, so pretty good.
I have stopped drinking in the week, replacing beers with sipping non-alcoholic cocktails ( San Pellegrino Chino and Schweppes Aperetivo spritz)
All good.
InternetStrang3r@reddit
Did it for a couple of weeks and felt pretty good. Got hit with the flu thatâs been going round and resorted to honey whisky. Just starting to feel human again
Worried-Elephant-926@reddit
Wet. Extremely wet.
moonweedbaddegrasse@reddit
My wife and all four neighbours are doing it. I'm still drinking every day and I feel FANTASTIC
