Adding HDD slots to Corsair 4000D

I currently have a corsair 4000D build and I was looking to add storage. I've already maxed out the 2 HDD slots in the cage it comes with. I don't really want to buy another case, and my GPU is small enough to not take up all the room inside, so I was wondering if I can add additional cages in the case. Any recommendations for how to set this up safely? I'd like to limit vibration to protect the drives.

So your OS is on a NVMe M.2? What sizes are your HDD's?

Yup, os is on a 2tb nvme, and I'm planning on having 6x12 tb hdds for now

Adding additional cage(s)/HDD(s) internally runs the risk of affecting internal air flow and subsequently the case's thermals. You probably have already evaluated replacing the two 12TB's with two 24TB's.
The 4000D Quick Guide diagrams seems to indicate there may be space on top of the basement on end adjacent to the case front (above and opposite to where the factory HDD cage sits) to seat one HDD, perhaps a 24TB. Four holes may need to be drilled for securing this one drive. The screws may be tightened with a stubby Phillips or an offset Phillips wrench first before installing the basement HDD cage in place.
Otherwise, a NAS may be the next most reasonable and straightforward solution...

How much storage are you using? You could use an external drive bay or build a NAS

I have 2x12 tb drives right now, but I'm planning to add 4 more drives. I'd like to keep everything in a single tower if possible, because its a gaming pc to nas conversion
