Question on the SOB barrel - paired with a traditional baffle stack can, will it cycle lower pressure .223 reliably? Thinking about picking up an 11.5 with a polo K
overt-industries@reddit (OP)
Absolutely. This won’t be an issue for the Suppressor Optimized & Suppressor Dedicated series.
We sized our gas ports to still allow fine tuning of the buffer system, so if you know you’ll be running a lower pressure ammunition, all you need to do is configure it accordingly.
When paired with a standard strength spring & 3oz carbine buffer or A5H0, the Optimized & Dedicated will both eat anything with a Polo-K, even cheap steel case with zero issues. In most cases you can still add a little buffer weight as well.

Sold me, ordered an 11.5 suppressor dedicated, thank you! Looking forward to shooting it!
overt-industries@reddit (OP)
Solid choice. The Suppressor Dedicated are all I personally run, you’ll love the 11.5”
I’ll be at HQ tomorrow and we already have that specific Upper built and ready to go. We’ll have it packed up tomorrow. Appreciate the support.
Plastic_Reindeer7282@reddit
Oh hell yeah - thank you!

This is my exact setup rn, I got their BCM 11.5" suppressor optimized upper and I just got my polo k out of NFA jail this week. Hoping to take it to the range this weekend if the weather holds out. So I can't give you experience with the can but I can tell you it's been great so far with 62gr and 55gr unsuppressed

When will yall start doing chrome lined barrels? Had to go with an Expo Arms Crane Spec because I really like the chrome, but your products seem cool.
overt-industries@reddit (OP)
It’s something we’ve considered offering in the future. We haven’t offered chrome lining mainly due to the manufacturing process and cost associated with offering 8 different barrel variants.
The Expo is a Rosco barrel also, but they are limited to the standard Rosco gas port diameter specs due to the chrome lining process, which are gas port diameters we aren’t interested in offering.
I’d also say the benefits a chrome lined barrel offers vs a quality nitride barrel is often over-valued. But I appreciate the positive feedback and we definitely have more planned in the future. We just have to be patient as a small business.
puffinfish420@reddit
Absolutely, that makes sense to me. And yes, I agree that to the vast majority (including myself) chrome lining makes zero practical difference relative to nitride.
That said, I associate it with fighting rifles, as do a lot of people I know, so I kind of consider it a base line.
Even so, I get the cost/capital considerations you need to take into account when making these decisions.
overt-industries@reddit (OP)
It’s a common perception. I don’t necessarily agree with that perception, but it’s common enough for us to pursue chrome lining in the future. Although we would still offer more variants in nitride.
I can’t recall the standard gas port drill sizes, it’s also very possible Rosco was willing to make exceptions for a large company like Primary Arms, which I could understand. 0.070” is certainly better than most 11.5” port sizes on the market.

Great place great uppers they helped alot with my two custom builds

Appreciate this 🤙🏻

Great rifles and great customer service. I run the suppressor optimized unsuppressed with a 3oz buffer. So far it runs .223 pmc, .223 fiocchi, .223 Federal and 5.56 IMI. The a5h0 unsuppressed would cycle but I couldn't get the bolt to lock back on every time on an empty mag. 3 oz buffer I get lock back.

Excellent and my 3M money just hit my bank account
