What's your favorite term of endearment...wanker, tosser, donut, or muppet?

Hello there American here who visited England in 2002 with a friend and always loved the country and people. My friend is British with a strong sense of sarcasm that I appreciate...you guys have very clever television shows which I consider much more interesting and humorous than our low brow crap. So muppet and donut are actually my favorites but just curious if there are some personal preferences?

Don’t think you can really beat Wanker. I just flows out of the mouth and can be used for real wankers you dislike or best friends.

I've never liked Muppet as an insult.
The Muppets were quality entertainers who worked hard to put on a great show every week.
I'd be proud to be likened to a muppet

Regularly call my kids Muppets. Occasionally plum. Numbnuts too, but the wife doesn't like that so much.

Lately I’m calling everyone who irks me a ‘fucking spanner’ which feels whimsically retro.
DW_555@reddit
I recently introduced my team leader to calling people a spanner, he's Romanian and had never heard it before. He now uses it in every sentence he can.

Given the current world situation ( just as an overview) this type of “ sarca- endearment term is not really ever meant as anything other than it sounds. In truth it is accepted. Accepted because we are as a general population down trodden. Inoffensive because we are fools to put up with the way we are forced to live. We fucking know it.

I find nob to be simple and effective. The ambiguity is added fun.

As the leading UK "ask" subreddit, we welcome questions from all users and countries; sometimes people who ask questions might not appreciate or understand the nuance of British life or culture, and as a result some questions can come across in a different way than intended.
We understand that when faced with these questions, our users may take the opportunity to demonstrate their wit, dry humour, and sarcasm - unfortunately, this also tends to go over the heads of misunderstood question-askers and can make our subreddit seem hostile to users from other countries who are often just curious about our land.
