If needed in an emergency can I use my car or home keys to break my window?

If you are worried about needing to break your window, just keep a broken spark plug in your car. The ceramic will destroy the window with very low effort

Not true. Tried it many different times and ways. I run an auto recycling yard so I have had plenty of windows and spark plugs. A whole spark plug chucked at a window has a much better chance of breaking it than a little chunk of ceramic.

There are quite a few videos on the internet proving you wrong. Also was your spark plug broken?

Yes. I’ve tried it multiple ways. Whole plug, jagged piece, whole round piece of just the ceramic, etc. never worked. I suppose In the perfect conditions it could work but I wouldn’t trust it to break a window in an emergency. Buy a glass breaking/seat belt cutting safety tool instead.

I had no issue tapping a broken spark plug to my window. I am pretty sure it's going to work in an emergency

I like my keys in my truck and I had a broken spark plug in my truck bed, From when I took an engine to a dump.

Remove the headrest the two metal poles will shatter the windows.

i have heard of this but it doesn't always work and sometimes the headrest doesn't/can't come out

Technically, you probably could but it would be incredibly difficult. Most people won’t be able to get enough force while holding onto the key to do it. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, car windows are incredibly resilient to most types of impacts. Dedicated window breakers have an incredibly fine edge/point that concentrates the force to break the window. A key edge/point is now fine enough to do it without A LOT of force. You’d be better off getting a dedicated window breaker if it’s that big of a concern. You can get pretty small ones that go on a key ring.

also i meant the way baby driver broke the window with a screwdriver you press the key against the window with one hand and hit the your hand with your other hand
