14900K or AMD??

Should I buy the 14900K or an AMD instead? I have tried benchmarking sites and they say the 14900K is better then the best AMD currently (Ryzen 7 8900X3D, I believe this is the best right now) but content creators and people in general just say the Ryzen 7 ???? Is better for gaming

9800x3d is the best gaming CPU. 14900k is nice, but worse in every aspect with regards to gaming.

Not having to buy a new mobo when you want to UG chip is a big plus for me when I choose AMD. I loved my 5800x3d, and love my current 7800x3d for gaming while looking forward to last X3D chip before socket change.

I have both the 14th gen K and an x3d. I can’t tell the difference at 1440p and above while gaming. It’s largely the same experience.

i9 is NOT (!) a gaming CPU.

Yes go buy intel cpus that self destroys and uses 3x the power 🧠🧠

I asked for a reason buddy

The Ryzen 7 9800x3D is the best gaming CPU right now, at least until AMD releases the Ryzen 9 x3D chip(s) this summer. Even then it remains to be seen if the extra cores will make that large of a difference for gaming, or if it will just be the chip for people who want the highest-end gaming performance as well as top-end prosumer workstation performance.
Intel's current generation CPUs are not competitive in gaming performance.

If you used Userbenchmark then never use it again.
For gaming only bother looking at AMD X3D CPUs, 9800x3d and 7800x3d are just for gaming, if you live near microcenter and on a lower budget then 7600x3d could be decent and ryzen 9's are for people that need more cores.

There is no good reason to get a 14900K. If you REALLY need QuickSync, then Arrow Lake has that and a newer media encoding engine.

dont use userbenchmark (in case u used that site)

Look at reviews and benchmarks that compare CPUs in actual games and not just synthetic benchmark scores.
