The ATF Director giggled after receiving an 80% lower as a parting gift, and outgoing AG Garland was sent off with a TOMMY GUN courtesy of the FBI.

Attorney General Merrick Garland laughed while being gifted a Tommy Gun with a drum magazine as a retirement present from the FBI. This is coming from the same DOJ that calls these "gangster-type weapons" and "especially dangerous and unusual."
Meanwhile, the ATF Director was gifted an 80% lower for an AR-15 as a parting gift. The audacity didn’t stop there, Dettelbach laughed out loud as he was told the frame didn’t need to be “traced” or “registered,” actions that could potentially violate multiple federal and D.C. laws.
The hypocrisy is staggering. The same people who vilify law-abiding gun owners are delighted to get their hands on items they restrict for everyone else. Rules for thee, but not for me. They’re openly mocking us while trampling on our rights. Unreal.

The Thompson has a red plug in the muzzle, it's a toy.
Tommygun1921@reddit
I missed that, but was "like thats an sbr, no way thats real"
tom_yum@reddit
I don't think sbr rules apply to machine guns.
Tommygun1921@reddit
Thats true but it's more likely to be a sbr than a transferable mg. Unless he secretly can possess post 86 stuff
BannedAgain-573@reddit
The FBI director? He has access to whatever he wants. As part of the political class, specifically the Praetorian Guard rules don't apply to them.
Tommygun1921@reddit
Outgoing ag
BannedAgain-573@reddit
The gift was FROM the FBI to the outgoing ag. The FBI director isn't restricted to things like NFA GCA. It very well could be a post 86 mg
Peacemkr45@reddit
Yes, the FBI director isn't however, the AG is now a former AG and IS restricted from owning NFA items that we're post 86 manufactured.
BannedAgain-573@reddit
If the rules were applied equally. You all can't be this dense to think the political class cares about any of that
Peacemkr45@reddit
You don't see it for what it is. By gifting him an NFA item, they now have leverage over him. It would come down to just making a call to ATF stating he has an unlawful NFA item and he's in prison. His defense would be "well they gifted it to me?!?!" and the ATF would push back with "Well, in your former role, you knew it was unlawful to possess and you still accepted it" It wasn't a gift as much as a timebomb that could be remotely detonated.
BannedAgain-573@reddit
You keep acting like the rules apply to them.
Sounds like you've watched too many prime time crime dramas, this isn't an episode of SWAT, there's no need for dramatic lines, "but it was a gift! 😭"
It's not that complicated. It's as simple as, the rules don't apply to these people.
Tommygun1921@reddit
The ag is
1leggeddog@reddit
there ya go
NaturallyExasperated@reddit
They can saw off firearms as "protest" but if you do it they shoot your wife and kids.
1leggeddog@reddit
Your dog too

Much more accurate! 👍

Parts store down the road has heat-resistant Chevy orange, and I've got cardboard and mechanics wire in my garage.

Why didn’t I ever think of that

but muh rage bait
Mountain_Man_88@reddit
When they present a gun like this it's either a replica or deactivated. They're not giving Garland a functional machine gun. He's not gonna be robbing banks and moonshining with this thing. Yes it's stupid to give something cool to an anti-gun asshole. They should have given him a ball gag.
mwmwmwmwmmdw@reddit
they should give me a trinket from the supreme court gift shop to remind him what he will never get
Ornery_Secretary_850@reddit
Best comment of the year right here.
dooshlaroosh@reddit
Nah they’re holding on to that one for Schiff.
Correct-Award8182@reddit
Something makes me guess he already has the ball gag for when the wife gets ready to peg.
Airbjorn@reddit
Yeah, if you look closely a red plug is visible in the muzzle, so most likely a replica.
Ekul13@reddit
Hahaha soooooo funny
Hey buddy, you know how we are corrupt unelected bureaucrats? Here's some of those things that we regularly try to lock people up over and ruin their lives over 😂😂😂 sooo funny amirite
These people are the equivalent of any other tyrants throughout history. Whether it's punishment for not wanting them to exercise "prima nocta", going to jail for failing to meet production quotas, or hoarding food and living lavishly while their countrymen starve.
They're part of a big club and you ain't in it. Fuck these dirtbags
Rylovix@reddit
While I get the general message, you say unelected like you, me, and every other person with no free time to be informed in this country could be trusted to vote on the thousands of individual offices and positions that make up the federal government.
The federal government is transparent enough with who’s doing what that the election isn’t the problem. The problem is that no one cares to use this transparent information for anything useful. Instead it’s gay nightclubs and schools. The issue is you’ve let them become comfortable fucking you over.
Ekul13@reddit
I'll just say that I'm not comfortable with it at all
Which is why every time I see or hear about these self serving poisonous snakes I'll say something.
Because who knows maybe if enough people talk about it, it might some day lead to action. It will just take the general populace enough time being uncomfortable until they're spurred to action. Change doesn't happen overnight
ExPatWharfRat@reddit
Just as a heads up so you don't have a stroke about this: you cannot get gifted a machinegun. Your photo and fingerprints have to go to the ATF for processing.
What he received is almost certainly either a semiauto replica or completely de-milled.
Either way, they did not give him a real machinegun on his way out.
SnooCupcakes5535@reddit
Im 99 percent positive thats a denix replica, the actuator is solid all the way around, no cutout on it to line up the sights, and that orange inner plug.
snipe4fun@reddit
“Could potentially”??? Because of what? How much money they’ve “donated”???
That_Is_My_Band_Name@reddit
Looks airsoft for the AG, but while you might think this is delight on their part, it is definitely more of a poke at them and the ridiculousness of it all.
Ornery-Exchange-4660@reddit
I think it is a hard poke at them. Hopefully, the agencies are looking forward to more gun friendly bosses.
OutOfBounds11@reddit
Oh, come on.
tiggers97@reddit
So where do we report these breaches of the law?
I'm wondering if the new administration would be willing to "uphold the law", at least to the point that the prior administrators left at the ATF argues why it isn't a big deal (i.e. add weight to eliminating the rule)
wildraft1@reddit
There's literally an orange plug in the toy "Tommy Gun". Don't let this get you too worked up.
BannedAgain-573@reddit
Probably just a chamber plug
wildraft1@reddit
Did you even look? The chamber is on the other end of the barrel. It's cool, though. I don't mind helping you understand firearms. Hit me up if you don't know what a trigger looks like, either.
BannedAgain-573@reddit
Don't be a dick. It's probably some variation of this
tiggers97@reddit
I was thinking more of the 80% lower, but thanks for pointing that out.
Stretchwings@reddit
Nice knee-jeek reaction you made with this post
MArkansas-254@reddit
I’m sure there must be something illegal in both of these ‘gifts. ‘ Did they fill out their forms and have these transfers approved? 🧐
LarsPinetree@reddit
There’s a connection between the Tommy Gun and the FBI. The Tommy is basically the reason why the FBI started carrying guns. Before that, they didnt have guns nor were they allowed to make arrests. Had to call the local sheriff. Then the crooks got their hands on the Tommy Gun and it transformed the FBI into what we know now.
ToddtheRugerKid@reddit
The 80% lower is pretty funny.
FM492@reddit
I hope he paid the tax and did a background check for the Tommy gun
