Console player with no knowledge on PC looking to build for the first time. I want a 4080 super but they’re kinda hard to get so i’m not spoiled for options. Are there any i should avoid and any i should keep an eye out for? Thank you for the help!!!

All of them, 5000 series is literally a few weeks away from launching

yeah i was thinking of waiting for them but i doubt i’ll be able to get one at retail price and idk if i want to wait that long

Depending on where you are they might already be out.

i’m in the UK, feel like i won’t be able to get one for a reasonable price for at least a few months

they're up for preorder

the 4080super and 5080 are the same price? Why would you not buy the better one
jay__0101@reddit (OP)
because i won’t be able to get a 5080 for a while no? not for retail at least

Dude I’m in the same boat. But kinda stuck. 4080 is out of stock everywhere and 5000 series is going to by MIA For a few months due to resellers lol

i think i’m just going for the 4080 super i’ve been able to find a few in stock, i don’t understand waiting so long for a 5080
gt25stang15@reddit
Where have you been seeing them in stock?

i’ve just managed to get a PNY 4080 super from amazon about 5 mins ago, saw a MSI on there yesterday and one from orbital computers here in the uk idk where you’re from but most i’ve seen are on amazon
gt25stang15@reddit
Nice!! I also saw the PNY. I kept reading about fan issues and couldn’t figure out if that was an early release issue that has been fixed or not? I am trying to snag the MSI. Annoyed I missed it this morning.

i saw a lot of good stuff about the PNY, obviously there’s bad reviews for everything but hopefully it’ll be fine. if i was you i’d just keep checking amazon and i’m sure you’ll be able to find one for a good price just make sure ur being careful and check the seller location if it’s not directly from amazon.

I’ll try another day or two to snag a msi. Otherwise I’ll probably got for the PNY if it pops back up.

Not really, no. The days of particular manufacturers making crap hardware are pretty much long over since the major players (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) figured out that they could just not sell the board partners hardware if they didn't meet certain quality standards.
Now even the "crappiest" hardware manufacturer still makes a good product.
